CHICANO BRONZE MEDALIST SA POWERMAN ASIA DUATHLON

MAY ibubuga rin si Go-For-Gold triathlete John Leerams Chicano sa duath­lon kasunod ng impresibong pagtatapos sa Powerman Asia Duathlon Championships na idinaos sa Putraja­ya, Malaysia.

Umabot si Chicano sa podium ng pinakamalaking duathlon sa buong mundo matapos ang unang makasa­bog bagang ruta kung saan siya nagwagi ng silver medal sa men’s triathlon noong 2017 Southeat Asian Games.

“Overall, it was a good race for me. This is a great buildup for the SEA Games late this year,’’ ayon kay Chicano na tumapos na third overall sa men’s elite category na naorasan ng 2 oras, 43 minuto at 25 segundo.

Naghari naman si Frenchman Anthony Costes sa 10-kilometer run, 60km cycling at 10-km run event sa oras na 2:41.23 habang si Thomas Bruins ng Netherlands ay nagtapos na second overall sa oras na 2:42.04.

“To stand on the medal podium in an international race with some of the toughest and seasoned duathletes is something that our country should really be proud of,’’ ayon kay Go-For-Gold godfather Jeremy Go.

Bukod sa triathlon, ang Go For Gold na rin ang siyang supporter ng national athletes ng cycling, sepak takraw, skateboarding, wrestling at skateboarding bukod sa basketball teams sa PBA D-League sa Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Partner din ng Go-for-Gold ang National Basketball Training Center sa Coaches Convention ng huli kung saan ang best coaches sa bansa ay inaasahang dadalo sa two-day clinic sa Marso 22-24 sa SM Mall of Asia.

Ang paghahanda ni Chicano sa SEA Games sa Subic ay impresibo matapos ang panalo sa prestih­iyo­song Tri-Factor International Triathlon sa Quzhou, China, tatlong buwan ang nakaraan.
