NILAGDAAN na rin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang batas na layuning i-modify ang rank classification sa Philippine National Police at ang standard na pagtawag sa mga law enforcer. Ang batas ay mula sa inamyendahang Section 28 ng Republic Act 6975 o Department of the Interior and Local Government Act of 1990.

Sa ilalim ng batas, ang magiging rank classification sa PNP ay ang mga sumusunod: Director-General to Police General; Deputy Director-General to Police Lieutenant General; Director to Police Major General; Chief Superintendent to Police Brigadier General; Senior Superintendent to Police Colonel; Superintendent to Police Lieutenant Colonel; Chief Inspector to Police Major at Senior Inspector to Police Captain. Una nang sinabi ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson na ang batas ay tungo sa collective pursuit para matanggal ang pagkalito kung paano tatawagin ang law enforcers.
