NAPAKAGANDA ng taon ni Kevin Belingon nitong papatapos na 2018.

Bukod sa pagpapabag­sak niya kay Andrew Leone sa canvas at matulig ang kasagupa sa spinning back kick niyang pinantapos, makaraan ay tapusin sa desisyon si Martin Nguyen sa isang masterful performance, at pagka­raan ay durugin din si invincible Bibiano Fernandez upang ma­ging undisputed ONE Bantamweight king.

“I feel I am still getting better and better. Every day we go hard in training, and I am very fortunate to be training with the best martial artists in the world at Team Lakay,” sabi ni Belingon sa isang artikulo na nakapaskel sa opisyal na website ng ONE Championship. “This entire year has been a blessing, but the best is yet to come. ‘The Silencer’ still has a lot do.”

Sinabi ni Belingon na maaring ang kanyang naging sikreto sa tagumpay ay nasa isipan lamang at tamang direksiyon. “I have come to understand that it’s all about the process and not necessarily the end result. Once I came to terms with that, everything else started to fall into place. I wasn’t rushing things, both in and out of the cage,” ani Belingon.

Sinabi pa ng Benguet-based fireball na hindi aniya siya mahahasa sa kanyang skills kung hindi dahil na rin sa turo at tulong ng Team Lakay kung saan ay may­roong apat na world MMA champions ang koponan ngayon. “At Team Lakay, we have accomplished so much with very little. We didn’t have to have a fully equipped gym with state-of-the-art facilities, we never came from well-off and prestigious upbringings, but what we did with what we had was the most important thing.
