13 opisyal ng PhilHealth, sinuspinde ng Ombudsman

Suspendido ang 13 opisyal, kasama rito ang top executives, mula sa kontrobersiyal na Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) kung saan iniimbestigahan dahil sa anomalya umamo ng korupsiyon, ayon sa Ombudsman.

Ito ang naging aksyon ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires na suspindehin ng anim na buwan ang 13 officials. Subalit, hindi kasama si President at CEO Ricardo Morales sa suspensiyon. Kamakailan, isang whistleblower ang nagpahayag sa Senate hearings na mayroong “widespread corruption in PhilHealth" at di-umano inorder ni Morales na magkaroon ng “massage” sa isyu ng sinasabing overpriced sa covid-19 test kits.

Gayunman, ang mga matataas na opisyal na suspendido ay sina Dennis Mas, Senior Vice President (SVP) for Management Services Sector; Israel Pargas, SVP for health finance and policy sector; Shirley Domingo, Vice President for Corporate Affairs Group at Rodolfo Del Rosario, legal sector chief.

Sa isang order, sinuspinde ni Martires ng 6 months without pay ang mga sumusunod:

• Celestina Ma Jude dela Serna

• Ruben John Basa

• Dennis Mas

• Shirley Domingo

• Rodolfo Del Rosario

• Raul Dominic Badilla

• Israel Pargas

• Angelito Grande

• Lawrence Mijares

• Leila Tuazon

Sa isa pang hiwalay na order, sinuspinde ni Martires ng 6 months ang mga sumusunod:

• Roy Ferrer

• Ruben John Basa

• Clementine Bautista

• Angelito Grande

• Eugenio Donatos II

Subalit, hindi pa malinaw kung ipapatupad kina Ferrer, Basa at Grande ang dalawang 6-month suspensions simultaneously o sabay-sabay.

Gayundin, ang Office of the Ombudsman ay "cooperating" at nakikipag-ugnayan sa task force na itinalaga ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte na pinamumunuan ng Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ayon kay Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra, "it was agreed that any action by the agencies regarding PhilHealth will be coordinated through the Task Force and any action towards the prosecution of PhilHealth officers and employees and their cohorts will be made through the Task Force and with the endorsement of the Secretary of Justice."
