Nagkasundo na ang Pilipinas at Moderna Inc. sa 13 million doses ng COVID-19 vaccine na ide-deliver umano sa bansa sa kalagitnaan ng 2021.
Ayon sa Moderna, inaasahan ding magkakaroon ng karagdagang 7 million doses dahil sa hiwalay na pakikipagkasunduan sa kanila ng private sector sa bansa.
Saad ni Moderna Chief Executive Officer Stéphane Bancel, “We thank the government and the private sector for their collaboration to bring the COVID-19 vaccine Moderna to the Philippines.
“We appreciate the confidence in Moderna, and our mRNA platform demonstrated by the Government of the Philippines. We remain committed to making our vaccine available on every continent to help end this global pandemic.”
Kinumpirma rin ni Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez ang pagdating ng Moderna COVID-19 vaccine sa Pilipinas.
Aniya, "Ang gobyerno, they just were able to conclude mga 13 million doses so malaking bagay 'yan. "Hopefully, darating 'yan by June of this year.” Samantala, ang efficacy rate ng Moderna COVID-19 vaccines ay tinatayang aabot sa 94%.
