Sotto kay Morales: Walang privacy sa mga high public officials

Sinagot ni Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III ang naging pahayag ni PhilHealth President and CEO Ricardo Morales na hindi umano nirespeto ang kanyang “privacy” nang isapubliko ang kanyang medical certificate.
Saad ni Sen. Pres. Sotto, “I've said it before, when you hold a high public office, you are a servant of, and answerable to, the people. There is no privacy.
“If you cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!”
Humingi ng pahintulot si Morales na kung maaari ay virtually na lamang siya a-attend ng susunod na Senate hearing tungkol sa mga alegasyon laban sa PhilHealth kung saan itinuturong sangkot ang mga high officials nito sa diumano’y “PhilHealth syndicate” na “nagbulsa” ng P15 billion.
Ayon sa medical certificate ni Morales, siya ay sumasailalim sa treatment para sa cancer of the lymph nodes o lymphoma. Ang naturang kopya ng medical certificate ay isnumite sa midya at ayon kay Morales, pakiramdam daw niya ay nalabag ang kanyang privacy dahil dito.
Aniya, “In PhilHealth, we’re very careful with our patients’ data, because it involves private and personal data. I feel that my privacy was violated when they published my medical certificate… But maybe the Senate, maybe they’re above the privacy law, I don’t know. I’ll have the lawyers look at it.”
