Plano ng Department of Education (DepEd) na ang pagbubukas ng klase sa ilalim ng enhanced blended learning ay sa huling linggo ng Agosto o Setyembre habang patuloy ang pandemya ng COVID-19.
Nag-isyu ng statement ang DepEd matapos na hindi payagan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang kanilang proposal na magsagawa ng limited face-to-face classes sa mga lugar na may mabababang panganib ng COVID-19 transmission.
“We will release the final school calendar for School Year 2021-2022 once we get the final approval of the President. We are proposing that he choose among either August 23, 2021, September 6, 2021, or September 13, 2021,” pahayag ng DepEd.
Sa ilalim ng enhanced blended learning scheme, ang mga estudyante ay magkakaroon ng online classes at/o learn lessons mula sa mga printed modules na ibibigay sa kanila ng mga guro. “We are hopeful that our partners and stakeholders will come together once again in this endeavor and work with us to serve the interest of our Filipino learners,” saad ng DepEd.
Sisiguruhin naman ng DepEd na prayoridad pa rin ang kaligtasan ng 27 milyong mag-aaral at mahigit sa 840,000 mga guro. “We will defer to the professional assessment of the Department of Health (DOH), the IATF, and the wisdom of the President in ensuring their protection,” dagdag pa ng DepEd.
Sa kabila ng natigil na face-to-face classes, tinitiyak ng DepEd sa publiko na patuloy ang ahensiya sa paghahanda at pagbibigay ng de-kalidad na edukasyon sa mga estudyante sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic.
“While we remain optimistic to open schools when our situation improves, we are ready to fulfill our constitutional mandate in supporting our learners and teachers in any form of learning available,” sabi ng DepEd.
