Ayon kay Secretary Eduardo Año nitong Lunes na 428 cell tower applications permits pa ang hindi pa rin naa-aprubahan ng local government units (LGUs).
Napag-usapan sa meeting kasama si Pangulong Duterte, ayon kay Año sa halos 1,930 applications 1,502 pa lang ang na-aprubahan sa loob ng 80 LGUs.
“We will watch over this to ensure that it won’t take long to process under the old system that took 241 days for 19 permits with 86 document requirements,” ani Año.
Sa bagong sistema, sinabi ni Año na ang pagproseso ng mga permits ay aabutin lamang hanggang 16 na araw.
Una nang hinimok ni Duterte ang mga kumpanya ng telecommunication na iulat sa local government units kung sino man ang humahadlang para makakuha ng permit para makapagtayo ng cell tower.
Ayon pa sa pangulo “no mercy” ang ipapakita nito sa mga kasangkot sa pagkaantala ng proseso ng mga permit
“You know, a delay of 200 days is totally unacceptable to me. I will really go after you. I’ll show no mercy. Either you’re a supporter who helped in the election [or not],”
“Even if it’s a private company that’s doing the building of a tower, it is still a project of the government. It is commissioned and paid by the government exactly to do what they are supposed to do — building the towers…Do not give me that shit that it will reach all of you. Or else I will sue you all,” Duterte said.
