Dahil sa racism at COVID sa U.S. mga players, alanganing maglaro

Nahahati ang players, may maglalaro habang ang iba ay ayaw pang maglaro, iyan ay sa sandaling magbalik ang NBA sa susunod na buwan na gaganapin ang 2019-20 season sa Disney World sa Orlando.

Naniniwala ang ibang grupo ng players na mai-istorbo lang ng NBA ang mga nagpo-protesta sa pagkamatay ni George Floyd sa kamay ng mga Minneapolis police.

Noong nakaraan lamang ay pinamunuan ni Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving ang conference na kung saan ay hindi sila pabor na ituloy ang NBA season ngayong taon.

"I don't support going into Orlando," saad ni Irving. "I'm not with the systematic racism and the bullshit. … Something smells a little fishy. Whether we want to admit it or not, we are targeted as black men every day we wake up."

Subalit marami din ang gustong matuloy ang NBA at para sa kanila magagamit ang perang sasahurin nila para makatulong sa kapwa nila na apektado ng coronavirus, isa na rito si Houston Rockets guard Austin Rivers.

"Us coming back would put money in all of our (NBA players') pockets. With this money you could help out even more people and continue to give more importantly your time and energy towards the BLM movement. Which I'm 100% on board with. Because change needs to happen and injustice has been going on too long." hayag ni Rivers.

Hindi rin sang-ayon si Garrett Temple sa kanyang teammate na si Irving.
