OCD Asec. Purisima, sinibak sa puwesto ni P-Duterte

Sinibak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang isang mataas na opisyal mula sa Office of Civil Defense dahil sa "lack of trust and confidence".

Ito ang kinumpirma ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque kung saan tinukoy nito ang opisyal na si Assistant Secretary Kristoffer "Toby" Purisima.

"Meron pong announcement na tinanggal po sa puwesto si Assistant Secretary Kristoffer 'Toby' Purisima for lack of trust and confidence," ani Roque sa isang panayam ngunit wala pang eksaktong dahilan sa pagkakasibak kay Purisima.

Sinabi ni Roque na bilang deputy administrator ng OCD, may kinalaman ang ahensiya na nasa ilalim ng Department of National Defense sa pagsugpo ng gobyerno hinggil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

"Ang OCD po siyempre nasa ilalim din 'yan ng DND. 'Yan po ay kabahagi ng response natin sa mga crisis. 'Yung opisina po niya ay at the forefront in providing assistance kung merong calamity. At meron rin pong papel 'yung opisina niya dito sa COVID-19 [issue] dahil kabahagi ito ng government response," wika pa ng Kalihim.

Sa kasalukuyan, wala pa naman aniyang napipili ang pangulo bilang kapalit ni Purisima.

Samantala, kinumpirma rin ni Roque na tinanggap ng pangulo ang resignasyon ni Department of Information and Communications Technology Undersecretary Eliseo Rio, Jr., kasabay ng pasasalamat sa naging serbisyo ng opisyal.

"The Palace thanks Usec. Rio for his invaluable services to the nation and we wish him well in all his future endeavors," dagdag ni Roque.
