Online viewership ng PBA League dumarami

Paiigtingin pa ng liga ng PBA ang digital platforms para sa kanilang ika-45th season makaraang dumami ang fan viewership nila mula noong 2019.
Ang desisyon ay napagkayarian nang matipon ang datos ng PBA noong nakaraang taon, kasunod ng dumagsa ring gate attendance bukod sa online following. “Our attendance in venues declined by four percent, but our social media viewership increased by 20 to 25 percent,” saad ni league commissioner Willie Marcial kahapon sa press conference.
“All of the people are on their gadgets. They’re all on mobile, on their laptops. They’re on their way there, and we’re headed there too.”
Ang iba pang bilang ay ayon na rin sa resources ng liga mula sa online extensions.
Nakapaghatid ang 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup finals ng kabuuang 11 million video views online. “I think it’s a key platform for the PBA to push our programs. Live streaming is the future for the PBA and I think we should push that,” ayon kay Meralco Bolts governor at Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) president Al Panlilio.
Idinagdag ni Marcial na nakikipagnegosasyon na ang PBA sa Facebook at YouTube upang palawigin pa ang ‘monetizing potential’ ng liga. “It’s changing. In 2020, we will see better revenues in those areas,” saad ni league chairman Ricky Vargas.
