Grabeng magpatong sa presyo, lagot sa NBI!
Dear Chief Acosta, Magandang araw! Nais kong malaman kung sino ang may awtoridad na manghuli ng aktong lumabag sa mga probisyon ng Republic Act No. 7581 o ang “Price Act”? — Marilou
Dear Marilou, Para sa inyong kaalaman, ang Republic Act No. 7581 ay nagbibigay proteksiyon sa mga mamimili laban sa pagtaas ng presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin sa mga emergency situations o sa panahon ng kalamidad. Upang maisakatuparan ang mga probisyon ng nasabing batas, nag-isyu ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ng Department Administrative Order No. 09-08, Series of 2009 kung saan nakasaad ang mga sumusunod:
“Section 1. All field personnel of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are hereby deputized and directed to strictly implement the provisions of R.A. No. 7581 within their respective area of responsibility.
“Section 2. All field personnel of the NBI shall constantly monitor the prices of basic necessities and prime commodities and other consumer products within their respective area of responsibility, seeing to it that no price increase shall be imposed by the store owners, dealers and suppliers therein who are dealing with such goods. NBI field personnel are to effect the immediate arrest of violators of the Price Act while the commission of the offense or immediately thereafter.” (Binigyang diin).
Sang-ayon sa nabanggit, maaaring agarang maisagawa ng field personnel ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang pag-aresto sa mga naaktuhang lumalabag sa mga probisyon ng Price Act.
Nawa ay nasagot namin ang inyong mga katanungan. Nais naming ipaalala sa inyo na ang opinyong ito ay nakabase sa inyong mga naisalaysay sa inyong liham at sa pagkakaintindi namin dito. Maaaring maiba ang opinyon kung mayroong karagdagang impormasyong ibibigay. Mas mainam kung personal kayong sasangguni sa abogado.
