Sad daw pero tinanggap na rin… RICHARD YAP, OLATS SA PAGKA-CONG. SA CEBU

MALUWAG na tinanggap nina Richard Yap at Roderick Paulate ang kanilang pagkatalo nitong katatapos lamang na halalan. Lunes pa lang nang gabi at hindi pa man natatapos ang bilangan ay nagsipag-concede na sila at nag-post na sa kani-kanilang social media account ng kanilang statement.

Si Richard na tumakbong repre­sentative ng 1st District ng Cebu City ay aminadong nalungkot sa resulta, pero nagpasalamat naman siya sa lahat ng sumuporta sa kanya lalung-lalo na sa kanyang pamilya.

Narito ang kabuuan ng statement ni Richard na ipinost niya sa kanyang Facebook account:

“To my family, friends, colleagues and the Cebuanos, I know it is a very disappointing end of our journey. For as much as it has been a difficult campaign for us right from the beginning, I also know it has been a rewarding time for me. I am just sad that I was not given the chance to make my plans and dreams for Cebu a reality. I have met so many incredible Cebuanos and have had the privilege to listen to what they have to say which is mostly the desire to have a better life.

“My hope is that you have at least known me even for a short period of time that I have made my life public because of my wish to serve the Cebuanos. The vision I have for a better Cebu, a more progressive city as we all know, the opportunities are endless here. I will always admire the Cebuanos for our tena­city and strength of character. The attributes that will continue to help us achieve the struggles of our success.

“Our fight for the city doesn’t end here. Let us continue to stand in our principles and our unwavering support to transform Cebu as a city we can be more proud of.

“I am deeply grateful to my family and friends, especially to my wife, Mel­ody for being my source of strength, my children for their unconditional love and to everyone who never failed to stand by me. To my fellow candidates who have become friends and even family, who stood by me, helped me and encouraged me, to all the staff who were there to join us in our sorties and helped make sure that our activities were successful.

“To all the barangay captains, councilors and leaders who believed in me and made sure no one was left behind and to everyone else whom I may not have mentioned here. I am so blessed to have you all in my life and will forever be in debt to you. I have gained the people’s friendship and that is something that money can’t buy. And to the more than 80,000 plus people who put their trust in me.

“My sincere gratitude to everyone for the love and support you’ve given me throughout the campaign.

“Thank you all for the opportunity for running for Congress. I promise to continue to stand with you for a more progressive Cebu!

Sa kanyang Facebook account din nagpahayag si Kuya Dick (tawag kaya Roderick) na tumakbo namang vice-mayor ng Quezon City.

“Sa lahat ng sumuporta at nagmahal. Taos-puso akong nagpapasalamat. Hindi man tayo nanalo marahil may plano ang Diyos.

“Hindi man ako ganu’n kakumbinsido sa botong nakuha ko (108,000+) dahil ito rin halos ang nakuha kong boto noong 2016 sa isang distrito 2 lang (6 districts ang QC) sa aking pagiging konsehal... ganu’n po talaga ang pulitika. Sa mga nagtiwala at sumuporta, lalo na sa mga mahal kong kaibigan... maraming salamat po! Sa RP team ko salamat sa pagmamahal.
