Ipinaalala ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año na hindi puwedeng maglatag ng sariling checkpoint ang mga barangay kundi ang mga tauhan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) lamang ang maaaring mamahala nito.

"Ang gagawin natin, hindi na natin papayagan 'yung mga barangay na mag-checkpoint along national highways and provincial highways," ayon sa kalihim na aniya'y hindi dapat naaantala ang biyahe ng mga basic goods lalo na ang pagkain at iba pang agricultural products.
