Nagdemanda ng rape kay Vhong, balik-showbiz… Deniece, judge sa 2019 Miss Philippines

Ginulat ni Deniece Cornejo ang marami nu’ng umupo siya bilang hurado sa National Costume and Evening Gown competition ng 2019 Miss Philippines na ginanap sa Resort’s World kamakailan.

Umingay ang pangalan ni Deniece nu’ng masangkot siya sa iskandalo ni Vhong Na­varro na umabot pa nga sa demandahan.

Nabasura ang kasong rape na isinampa ni Deniece laban kay Vhong, habang guilty naman ang naging verdict kay Deniece, pati na kina Cedric Lee at Jed Fernandez dahil sa pambubugbog sa It’s Showtime host.

Isa si Deniece sa mga napili para maging panel of judges ng Miss Philippines Foundation headed by businessman and hospital consultant na si Mr. Vic Torres.

Siyempre, na-curious kami kung paano siya nakuhang judge ng Miss Philippines organizers.

“Kasi po I’m a Filipina. I’m a Filipino citizen and I’m very proud to support the Miss Philippines this year. So, I think there’s no reason not to support, to watch and to witness this beautiful event,” paliwanag ni Deniece.

Bilang judge that night, nakita raw niya na determinado ang mga contestants na nagre-represent ng kani-kanilang bayan sa buong Pilipinas.

“Uh, they really want to showcase their hometown. And I see the passion and the love for the country.”

When asked kung kumusta na siya after ng iskandalo at demandahan nila ni Vhong, she said that she’s okay na. Sa ngayon, naka-focus daw siya sa pagpo-promote ng ating environment.

“Well, I’m focused in the environment which is currently I’m the Miss Earth Saver, and I’m very active in the projects of the DENR. Last April, we did an event for Earth Day 2018. And also, I’m focused and looking forward for more projects with the international martial arts, which they gave me a second band blackbelt. And I’m busy with my online classes.”

Feeling niya, may calling siya para sa pagpapaunlad ng ating environment.

“Actually, that’s very surprising kasi I don’t know, maybe it’s God’s calling. And I think we really should focus on this area because ito ‘yung mga napag-iiwanan. So, I’m very thankful for the calling.”

She’s a volunteer daw ng Payong Kalikasan na under ng DENR at in-appoint din siyang Miss Earth Saver 2019 ng Earth’s Saver Organization.

Ayon sa kanya, isang beauty pageant din ang Miss Earth Saver. So, beauty queen na pala si Deniece ngayon, huh?

“No,” mariing tanggi niya. “I never wanted to be a beauty queen. I think I’m just for women empowerment. And then, representing the beauty of every women when it comes to attitude and personality, and even the determination of being a woman.”

‘Yan ang kanyang mga pinagkakaaba­lahan kaya nawala siya sa “limelight.”

“I never wanted to be in the limelight. Sobrang mahiyain po talaga ako. I’m just enjoying what I’m doing and so far naman po, may mga blessings.”

Lastly, tinanong namin siya kung nagkaroon ba ng chance na magkatagpo sila ni Vhong in any event or occasion.

“I cannot comment on that po,” sagot ni Deniece.
