RAMSAY, MAGLALARO SA MPBL BATANGAS TEAM

NAKATAKDANG maglaro ang aktor na si Derek Ramsay para sa Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics sa ikatlong season ng Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). Hindi ito ang unang pagkakataon na maglalaro sa isang commercial basketball league ang sikat na TV at movie personality. Dati na siyang napabilang sa koponan ng Kettle Korn sa Philippine Basketball League (PBL). “Derek is not only a good actor, but a good basketball player as well. We are happy to have him on our team,” sabi ni Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics team manager at Absolut Distillers, Inc. COO Gerry Tee.

Ayon kay Tee, si Ramsay ay maglalaro sa opening game ng MPBL Season 3 sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Hunyo 12. Maglalaro rin siya sa kanilang Dubai game sa Setyembre. “I love the game of basketball. Joining Team Tanduay is an honor. I always considered myself an athlete before an actor. I know there will be haters and people who will doubt me, but that’s okay. This is a challenge that I’ve decided to take on. I hope to help the team in any possible way I can,” sabi ni Ramsay. Ang Batangas City-Tanduay Athletics ang itinanghal na kampeon sa unang season ng MPBL ngunit natalo sa South Division Finals ng Davao Occidental Tigers sa second season. Aktibo rin si Ramsay sa sports na ultimate frisbee at beach football. Bukod kay Ramsay may iba pang celebrity ang naglalaro sa MPBL tulad nina Gerald Anderson, Xian Lim, Mark Andaya at Andre Paras.
