IKINALULUNGKOT ni Piolo Pascual ang nangyari sa peli­ku­lang Kuya Wes na produced by Spring Films at ni Ogie Alcasid na siya ring bida ng pelikula.

“We’re a bit sad because you know, we weren’t able to get a lot of cinemas,” sabi ni Papa P. (tawag kay Piolo) nang ma­ka­­tsikahan namin matapos ang kan­yang contract signing sa AMA University Online Education (AMA OED) bilang bagong ambassador.

“And since we’re transitioning, peo­ple don’t want to go to cinemas anymore, if you’re not Marvel. So, we’re looking at studying other platforms, which we have.

“You know, it’s just like when we came out with our first movie before, Kim­my Dora, we were transitioning from analog to digital and from film to digital.

“So, it’s hard nowadays. We’re trans­itioning from cinemas to phones, TV, so mahirap,” pahayag ng aktor.

Kahit medyo hindi maganda ang kalagayan ngayon ng mga pelikula sa mga sinehan, ani Piolo ay patuloy pa rin naman silang magpo-produce.

“But we’re not giving up, you know, as long as you know that you have good content and you have a good material,” he said.

Bilang producer, siyempre ay nalu­lungkot din daw siya sa sitwasyon ngayon ng mga pelikula.

“Siyempre naman, that’s my business. Pagiging artista, bayad ka. ‘Pag producer ka, ikaw ang naglalabas ng pera. So, masakit din not just for us but also for the investors, for those who be­­lieve, such as Kuya Ogie, who is a first-time producer.

“It’s heartbreaking for us. But you know, we’re not the ones to give up,” aniya.

In fact, nakatakdang umalis si Piolo sa Mayo patungong Florence, Italy para mag-enroll ng short course called Film Producing. Eight weeks daw ang natu­rang course, so mga 10 weeks daw siya sigurong mawawala. Kasama niya si Direk Joyce Bernal na tungkol naman daw sa sounds ang pag-aaralan.

Samantala, perfect na perfect si Piolo para maging ambassador ng AMA OED since meron din siyang scholars na pinag-aaral. Marami na siyang napagta­pos, actually, na bihira ang nakakaalam dahil hindi rin naman niya ibina-brag pa.

Kaya nga natutuwa siya dahil puwe­de silang magkaroon ng partnership ng AMA for the scholars.

“This is a good opportunity for the scholars that we have, for those who are still in high school or grade school, we can set up a program for them for college,” he said.
