Interesting din ‘yung pakiki­pag­tsikahan namin kay Edu Manzano who was also there during the advance birthday celebration of ex-Senator Jinggoy Estra­da.

Unang bati kaagad ng mga kasama namin kay Edu, “Mama­matay ka na nga ba? Ano’ng klaseng pagkamatay ang ibibigay sa ‘yo?”

Ibig sabihin, tumatak na talaga nang husto ang role ni Edu sa Ang Probin­syano bilang President Cabrera. At halos hindi ito magkandaugaga sa pagsa­got sa mga tanong.

He said na lahat silang candidates for the election will eventually disappear before the big day, campaign time that is.

Hindi niya pa time mag-disappear at hindi niya raw alam kung paano siya papatayin sa serye.

May speculation kuno na siya ay bigla na lamang mawawala at may posi­bilidad na after election time, he may be needed to appear again in the series.

Another question sa kanya, paano raw kung sakaling manalo siya, eh, di magkikita sila ru’n ng former wife ni­yang si Congresswoman Vilma Santos-Recto?

Edu said, ”Okay lang, we are good friends anyway. There’s nothing wrong with it. Baka maging magka-team pa kami sa ilang bills na pareho naming gustong i-pursue.”

And they might both even help each other come up with a bill that will really help the showbiz industry since both of them have similar backgrounds at pareho silang pami­lyar sa mga proble­ma ng in­dus­­triya.

We also asked him kung paano siya napunta ng San Juan? Dati naman, nu’ng una siyang kumandidato ay nasa Makati siya.

He explained, “Dahil ito sa mga anak ko. Si Enzo ay sa La Salle. Nilalakad niya lang ang school at bahay dito sa San Juan. Malapit din sa kanyang school si Addie, but I made it a point na siya ay hatid-sundo. Babae kasi.”

Since nag-open up na siya about his kids, we asked him, “‘Di ba, ang anak mo ay sina Luis, Enzo at Addie? Sino naman si Diego (he was included in the picture with Edu and his children when he was interviewed in Magan­dang Buhay).”

Hesitant siyang suma­got nu’ng una, but we said, there was nothing wrong in being open about it.

Kuwento ni Edu, “He is my 15-year-old son sa isa sa mga naging girlfriends ko. He doesn’t stay with me, he is with his mother.”

The mother of his youngest son named Diego comes from a very prominent family. Asked namin kung ang last name nito tulad nina Luis, Enzo at Addie ay Manzano.

Edu confessed, “Hindi. He carries his mother’s last name. Pero nagbibigay din ako ng support sa kanya.”

That’s one thing people can appreciate about Edu. Aside from him being so friendly, he can be honest to a point.
