MATAPOS ma-acquit sa kasong plunder noong Disyembre 7, 2018, hinahabol naman ngayon ng mga prosecutor ng Ombudsman ang actor-politician na si Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. na kumakandidato bilang senador sa May, 2019 elections para bayaran ang civil liability ng na-dismissed na kaso o ibalik sa national treasury ang halagang P124.5 million.

Ang Ombudsman’s Office of the Special Prosecutor ay lumapit sa Sandiganbayan’s Special First Division para magsumite o gumawa ng aksiyon ang anti-graft court laban kay Revilla.

Nanindigan ang kampo ni Revilla na hindi sila dapat magbayad dahil na-acquit na ang dating senador sa kasong plunder.

“He (Revilla) has no obligation under the (Sandiganbayan) judgment to return anything. How can he be held civilly liable if he was not found criminally liable? The finding of the court is he did not receive any of the alleged kickbacks or commissions,” ang naging pahayag ni Ramon Esguerra sa The PhilStar.

Maaalalang nasangkot ang dating senador sa kasong plunder dahil sa diumano’y pagkakaugnay niya sa pork barrel scam at humarap sa kasong 16 counts of graft, ngunit na-acquit noong December 7, 2018.

Samantala, na-convict naman ang kanyang dating empleyado na si Richard Cambe at ang tinaguriang Pork Barrel Queen na si Janet Lim Napoles.
