GO-SIGNAL MUNA NINA PACMAN AT PREXY BAGO MAITATAG ANG BOXING COMMISSION

MAGHIHINTAY na muna raw ang Games and Amusement Board (GAB) sa go signal ni Senador Manny Pacquiao at ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte bago kikilos ang ahensiya hinggil sa paglikha ng bagong komisyon na magsisilbing regulatory board sa pro boxing.

“Let’s wait and see. If President Duterte gives his thumbs-up and signs it into law, we’ll follow. The law is the law,” ayon kay GAB Commissioner Mar Masanguid sa 7th TOPS “Usapang Sports” sa National Press Club sa Intramuros ng nagdaang Huwebes.

Maging si GAB Chairman Abraham “Baham” Mitra ay maghihintay rin ng kumpas ng Senador at Pangulo. Tiniyak ni Masanguid sa sports editors, writers at photographers ng mga leading tabloids sa bansa na marami pang bagay na pag-aaralan bago lagdaan ang batas.

Isa sa aspeto na kinokonsidera bago ang pagtatag ng pro boxing body, ayon sa kanya ay ang budget. “ I am sure President Duterte will take a close look and hear all sides first before making a decision. Foremost on his mind will be the welfare of the boxing community, including the pro boxers themselves,” paliwanag ni Masanguid na dumalo sa weekly forum kasama si GAB Boxing Chief Jun Bautista.

“President Duterte fully supports the GAB and its mandate to look after the welfare of all professional athletes,” ayon kay Masanguid at nabanggit niyang sinuportahan pa ng Pangulo ang GAB sa pag-host sa WBC Women’s Convention and Asia Summit na idinaos Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) noong 2018.
