The Netherlands at 16-year-old Japanese world champion Aori Nishimura.

“I believe she is one of the leading contenders for our country to get another Olympic medal,’’ ayon ka Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go.

‘“It’s a dream that I hope to fulfill. But for now, my focus is how to earn a spot in the Olympics through a series of ranking competitions where I have to perform at my best,’’ ani Didal, isa sa ilang national athletes sa anim na sports na suportado ng Go For Gold.

Aaksiyon din sa Rio qualifier, na kinokonsiderang 2019 world championship ng skateboarding ay si Christiana Means, isang Oregon-based Pinay skater. “We wish her (Didal) good luck in her tournament and will continue to support her and our other Pinoy skateboarders,’’ saad ni Go.

Bukod sa skateboarding, ang Go For Gold ay nasa likod ng tagumpay ng ilang atleta ng cycling, triathlon, sepak takraw, dragonboat at wrestling.

Ang top 14 women ng Street League Skateboarding ay aaksiyon sa Rio simula sa Martes, na itatampok din ang mga kilalang skaters na sina Pamela Rosa, Alexis Sablone, Kate Shengeliya, Jenn Sotto, Lacey Baker, Samarria Brevard, Julia Brueckler, Leticia Bufoni at Mariah Duran. (MC)
