“Our athletes have produced good results this year and with continued support, I believe they can perform better in the SEA Games,’’ ayon kay Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go.
“There are still many things our program needs to improve on, including the selection of tournaments where our athletes are bound to compete,’’ ayon kay Go For Gold project director Ednalyn Hualda.
Ayon kay Go, pangangalagaan din ng Team Go For Gold ang training at exposure ng junior cyclists sa national team katuwang ang PhilCycling at makapagprodyus ng Filipino Olympian sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“Different types of sports have a wide variety of needs. The Go For Gold program is trying to fulfill those needs to make the athletes perform at their best,’’ ayon kay Hualda.
Bukod sa pagtulong sa national athletes sa cycling, dragonboat at sepak takraw, naglaan din ng tulong ang Go For Gold sa tagumpay ng men’s triathlon squad, skateboarding team at ng elite Filipino wrestlers. “I wouldn’t have won two gold medals (in the SEA Games) if not for support of Go For Gold. They supported me throughout my journey in the past two SEA Games,’’ ani Huelgas. (MC)
