MATAPOS ma-diagnose sa pagkaka­roon ng kidney failure ang Miss International 2013 na si Bea Rose Santiago, masaya nitong ibinalita na matapos ang tatlo at kalahating buwan ay graduate na siya sa pagpunta sa ospital at puwede nang mag-undergo ng dialysis sa kani­lang bahay.

Kuwento nito, “For the past 3 and a half months I’ve been coming to this hospital, 4 times a week 5 hrs a day. I wake up 5:30 or 6 am travel 2 hrs and set my machine up. It tested my whole being.”

Dagdag pa nito, “I took uber, lyft, go trains, YRT and ttc to get to the hospital. It tested my patience, confidence in myself, my faith and my family.”

Ikinuwento ng beauty queen sa nauna niyang post ang hirap ng kanyang pinagdaanan nu’ng malamang meron siyang sakit.

Kuwento nito, “I was diagnosed months ago, I was in denial and that’s why I left the Philippines to get a second opinion in Tokyo.”

At nu’ng ma-confirm nga raw ang kanyang sakit, agad siyang lumipad papunta sa kan­yang pamilya at mga kakilala na puwede niyang maging donor dahil kinakailangan niyang sumailalim sa kidney transplant.

Dagdag pa nito, I live because of a machine, my dialysis machine and the doctors and nurses at Home Hemo Dialysis Centre in Toronto General. I am blessed and I will continue to spread positivity to the world.”

Ayon kay Bea, hindi niya ito ipinost para kaawaan, bagkus ay para maging aware ang lahat.

Sixteen years old daw siya nang mag­karoon ng IGA Nephropathy stage 1 at UTI, food poisoning at stress naman nu’ng mas bata.

Sinabi ng beauty queen na sa genetics daw ito nakukuha at uso sa mga Asian, kaya importante raw na magpa-checkup ang bawat isa.

Ikinuwento rin ni Bea Rose na kumakain naman siya ng mga healthy food, nagwo-workout palagi at wala raw sa kanilang pamilya ang merong sakit sa kidney, but still, nagkaroon pa rin siya ng ganitong sakit.

Aniya, “I am healthy and I work out regularly, none of my family suffers from kidney related illnesses but things like this happens. Does not mean I’m done. I’m unstoppable and will be healed! God loves me and He keeps showering me with love and blessings from friends and family! I am lucky and I am loved! Bad kidneys can kiss my @$$!”
