KUNG sa tingin n’yo madaling kalaban si Broner, baka nagkakamali kayo! Iyan ang walang kagatol-gatol na sabi ni Stephen Espinoza at idinagdag niya na siguradong si Adrien Broner ang magbibigay ng pahirapang laban kay Manny Pacquiao sa Enero 19, 2019.

Naintindihan na rin daw ng Showtime president of sports and event programming kung bakit si Pacquiao na 40-anyos na sa Disyembre ang ikakasa kahit na 2-1 favorte laban sa 29-anyos na si Broner, ayon sa artikulo ng Philboxing.

Inaasahan na iyan dahil si Pacquiao kamakailan lang ay pinabagsak si Lucas Matthysse noong nakaraang 4 na buwan habang si Broner ay nakatapos sa laban ng split draw kay Jessie Vargas sa huli niyang laban.

Sinisiw lang ni Pacquiao si Vargas ng nakaraang dalawang taon upang muling mabawi ang WBO welterweight title at malaki ang kalamangan ni Pacman pagdating sa pay-per-view favorite.

Maghaharap sina Pacquiao (60-7-2, 39 KOs) at Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs, 1 NC) ng Cinci­nat­ti para sa pag-aagawang WBA world welterweight title na itataya ni Pacman nang ma-knockout si Matthysse sa 7th round sa kanilang July 15 fight sa Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ang kanilang 12-round, 147-pound title bout ay headline sa card ng MGM Grand Garden Arena sa Las Vegas. “I guarantee this will be an exciting fight,” ani Espinoza. “There will be plenty of action for the fans.”

Inanunsiyo na rin ni Pacman na muli niyang kukunin si coach Freddie Roach pero nang tanungin kung bakit hindi si Roach ang head trainer, pinuntusan ni Pacquiao ang kalusugan ng dating trainer. “Buboy and Freddie, they’re a team,” ani Pacquiao.

“Buboy is always there. He has experience, many fights with Freddie. So I think Freddie can instruct Buboy to do something like that. Because, you know, Freddie’s not young anymore and I’m, you know, I feel pitiful with Freddie. I’m praying for him, for the healing of his sickness. My plan, my thinking is he can use Buboy to do mitts in training, supervise and watch the training, like that.”

Subalit mukhang nagpapa­kipot pa si Roach. Nadismaya raw kasi ito sa deklarasyon ni Pacman na muli silang magte-training, pero hindi naman daw siya kinakausap ng personal ng Pinoy boxing legend hinggil sa bagay na ito.

“I’d have to hear what the details are,” ani Roach. “You never know who it is coming from when you hear from his camp. I’d have to hear what he wants me to do, what he wants Buboy to do.
