LEE, INISAHAN ANG GINS SA GAME 1 SEMIFINALS

NAKAUNA sa Game 1 ang Magnolia Hotshots matapos payukuin ang Barangay Ginebra, 106-98 kagabi sa 2018 Philippine Basketball Association, (PBA) Governors Cup best-of-five semifinals sa Ynares Center, Antipolo City.

Nagtala si reinforcement Romeo Travis ng 37 points at 16 rebounds habang 27 markers ang kinana ni Paul Lee para sa Hotshots.

Naghabol sa first quarter ang Hotshots pero nagtiyaga silang humabol para makuha ang bentahe, 63-55 sa halftime. Maagang rumatrat si Ginebra import Justine Brownlee na nakapagtala agad ng 20 puntos sa unang dalawang periods.

Subalit nagtulungan sina Travis, locals Lee at Justin Melton sa opensa para makuha ng Hotshots ang abante papasok ng third.

“I have the highest respect for coach Norman, (Black), Meralco, Allen Durham and how hard they are playing. I was so impressed watching them play. I know we have a real battle on our hands in this series,” saad ni Alaska coach Alex Compton.

Gumapang sa 1-6 karta ang Bolts sa elimination round kaya positibo si Black na maipagpapatuloy ang kanilang magandang laro.

“A lot of these turnaround was caused by the all-around game of Allen Durham. He’s scoring, rebounding the ball, and defending. Then if he leads like that, his teammates are going to follow,” ani Black.

Ayon kay Black determinado ang kanyang mga players na sumilo ng korona. “It’s the desire of the players to continue winning. This conference, we’ve done well in the last two years with Allen. It would be pretty bad to get eliminated immediately. That’s why the body is fighting. We know we have a good import and all we need to do is to support him and give ourselves a chance of winning,” hayag ni Black.
