Chavit Singson, itinaas sa P200K ang reward sa MMDA enforcers

Itinaas ni Luis "Chavit" Singson nitong Lunes ang kanyang reward para sa mga tauhan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na sumita sa kanyang convoy dahil sa maling paggamit ng EDSA busway.

Bumisita si Singson sa opisina ng MMDA sa Pasig City upang iabot ang reward.

"Nakita ninyo yung sinabi ko sa nag-interview na magbibigay ako ng P100,000 na papremyo sa mga nanghuli, at dahil ilang araw na nangyari, gagawin kong P200,000 ang ibibigay ko,” aniya sa Facebook post.

“This prize was properly received by the accounting and made with receipt. This cash prize could also be used as a support and improvement to the system of MMDA,” pahayag ni Singson.

Noong Abril 8, nakatanggap ng violation ticket mula sa MMDA ang convoy ni Singson matapos mahuli na gumagamit ng EDSA Busway.

PhilHealth President and CEO Emmanuel R. Ledesma, Jr. signed today a Memorandum of Agreement with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) led by Acting Chairman Atty. Romando S. Artes that aims to promote and enhance public awareness on PhilHealth benefits and services through MMDA's digital and non-digital media platforms prominently located throughout Metro Manila. 

The partnership, which is already on its 5th year, will benefit millions of commuters and motorists plying major thoroughfares in the National Capital Region.

"Through our renewed alliance, we aim to enhance access to quality healthcare services for all, especially in the dynamic landscape of the National Capital Region. By synergizing our efforts, we can better address our communities' evolving healthcare needs and contribute to our nation's overall health and resilience,” Ledesma said in his speech.

For his part, Acting Chairman Artes expressed his continuing support to the state health insurer, saying, “Matagal na po tayong nakikipagtulungan sa PhilHealth at asahan po ninyo na patuloy kaming susuporta sa napakagandang programa ng PhilHealth lalong-lalo na sa information dissemination, dahil sa totoo lang napakarami pong magandang proyekto at benepisyo ang binibigay ng PhilHealth.”

Earlier, PhilHealth NCR Office led by Dr. Bernadette Lico announced during the MMDA flag raising ceremony the accreditation of the MMDA Clinic as the country's first non-hospital-based, non-LGU and non-uniformed Konsulta Package Provider that will cater to the Agency’s close to 8,000 traffic enforcers, street sweepers and office-based personnel.

“We would like to give due recognition to MMDA for committing to provide all its dedicated personnel, including their dependents, with the primary care benefit package, such as health profiling, consultations, diagnostic and laboratory tests such as chest X-ray, fasting blood sugar, and electrocardiogram, as well as drugs and medicines for certain medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, and hypertension,” the PhilHealth Chief added.

SUV, nahuli sa EDSA busway, tumakas... Sen. Chiz, nag-sorry

Humingi ng tawad si Senador Francis 'Chiz' Escudero nitong Biyernes, Abril 12, matapos mahuli sa EDSA bus lane ang isang sports utility vehicle (SUV) na may protocol license plate no. 7 na inisyu sa kanyang pangalan.

"In the morning of 11 April 2024, a vehicle bearing protocol license plates issued to me was apprehended by the MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) for improperly using the bus lane on Edsa. The use of the protocol plate was unauthorized, as the vehicle was being driven by the driver of a family member," saad ni Escudero sa kanyang pahayag.

"I apologize to the public and my colleagues in the Senate for this oversight. Moving forward, I commit to ensure that the protocol plates entrusted to me are used appropriately, consistent with the provisions of Executive Order No. 56, s. 2024," dagdag niya.

Binigyang-diin din ni Escudero na nalabag ang batas sa paggamit ng No. 7 protocol plate sa loob ng bus lane dahil hindi pinapayagan ang mga sasakyang may ganitong plaka sa loob ng nasabing daan.

Pinuri naman ng senador ang mga otoridad para sa kanilang pagiging mapanuri at muling ipinahayag ang kanyang suporta sa mga pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na tiyaking sinusunod ng lahat ang mga batas trapiko sa Metro Manila.
