Bumuo ng isang alyansa ang Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) at Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) ngayong Huwebes para sa May 2022 national at local elections.
Tinawag na UniTeam Alliance Agreement, ang koalisyon na binuo ng apat na political parties na nangakong susuporta sa kandidatura nina dating senador Ferdinand “Bongbong/BBM” Marcos Jr. at Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte para sa pagka-pangulo at pagka-bise presidente.
Nangako rin ang alyansa na ipagpapatuloy ang pagkakaroon ng tinatawag na good governance, reforms to reboot and rebound the economy, sustenihan ang kampanya para malabanan ang pandemya ng COVID-19, isulong ang national unification at healing, at pagtuunan ang iba pang malaking problema na kinakaharap ng Pilipinas.
“Whereas, in view of the shared vision of the Convenor and Partners, all parties have agreed to forge this alliance that will pave the way for unity, strength and continued positive change for the country,” batay sa statement ng two-page agreement ng koalisyon.
Ang kasunduan ay nilagdaan nina Lakas-CMD president at House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez, PFP president at South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr., HNP president at Davao Occidental Governor Claude Bautista, at PMP president Jinggoy Ejercito Estrada.
Si Marcos na dumalo sa event na ginanap sa Sofitel ng Philippine International Convention Center sa Pasay City ay nagsabing ang kasunduan ay kinakailangan bilang hakbang para tipunin at buuin ang magkakaibang political forces para sa 2022 elections.
“This is a very important step. This is the beginning of our consolidating of the political forces at least on this side. As we have been experiencing, it has been a very tumultuous campaign already, we are still six months away from the national election,” ani BBM.
“It is with these unifying steps that we hope to bring stability back, well first to the political arena, which now is in the middle of the decision-making process that our people will have to come to when May comes, the election comes,” dagdag ni Marcos.
Sa isang video message naman, sinabi ni Mayor Sara, anak ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, na ang alyansa ay hindi lamang nagpapakita ng matibay na mithiin ng partido para sa ikabubuti ng bansa aniya, “[i]t also echoes loudly of our triumph to peacefully unite and stand side by side in the pursuit of continued development and positive change for our fellow Filipinos and the Philippines.”
“The UniTeam has done something remarkable in a time when political noise and bickering drown the issues and problems confronting the Filipino people -- that is, to forge a partnership as one organization, setting aside political rivalries and differences, to become strong partners of the people and the nation. Our alliance is built on friendship, trust, and the commitment to serve the Filipinos and the country,” dagdag ni Mayor Sara.
