Hello, Bulgarians! Nagpaliwanag si Social Security System (SSS) Account Management Group Acting Head Neil F. Hernaez (kaliwa) kay Philippine Association of Manning Agencies and Shipmanagers, Inc.

(PAMAS)-International Maritime Association of the Philippines (INTERMAP) President Captain Juanito G. Salvatierra, Jr. ang social security coverage na inaalok ng SSS sa katatapos na 1st General Membership Meeting ng PAMAS-INTERMAP na ginanap sa AMOSUP Convention Hall, Seamen's Center Building sa Intramuros, Manila.

Sa nasabing event, ipinakita ni Hernaez ang SSS Programs for Seafarers. Aniya, sa ilalim ng Section 9-B ng Republic Act No. 11199 o ang Social Security Act of 2018, ang mga manning agencies ay itinuturing na employer ng mga seafarer.

Tinalakay ni Hernaez ang saklaw ng SSS, mga kontribusyon, benepisyo, loan, at ang Workers' Investment and Savings Program (WISP). Nagprisinta rin siya ng mga update sa mga pagpapahusay sa mga pasilidad ng SSS upang mapabuti ang mga serbisyo nito sa mga miyembro.

Dumalo rin sa event sina SSS Public Affairs and Special Events Division Concurrent Acting Head Carlo C. Villacorta at SSS NCR Large Accounts Department Acting Head Henry D. Bonete, na tumulong kay Hernaez sa pagsagot sa mga tanong sa open forum.

KALAP, katuwang sa pag-angat ng mga magsasaka at mangingisda

Sinuportahan ng Kapatid Angat Lahat sa Agri Program (KALAP) ang Convergence Initiatives to Increase Rice Productivity sa pamamagitan ng Masagana Rice Industry Development Program (MRIDP) nang ilunsad ito noong Mayo 31, 2023 sa tanggapan ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA) sa Quezon City.

Sa ilalim ng Memorandum of Understanding, layunin ng MRIDP na tiyakin ang isang masigla, matatag at maunlad na industriya ng bigas, upang makamit ang hindi bababa sa 95 percent rice self-sufficiency sa taong 2027.

Binuo ng Go Negosyo ang KALAP upang palaguin ang agrikultura sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagsama ng mga MSME sa value chain ng malalaking kumpanya sa agrikultura, upang maging produktibo, kumikita, at competitive mga maliliit na magsasaka at mangingisda ng bansa.

Sinabi ng tagapagtatag ng Go Negosyo na si Joey Concepcion na ang mga lokal na pamahalaan ay mahalagang katuwang sa KALAP dahil sila rin ang nagsisilbing “big brother” ng mga maliliit na magsasaka at nakikipagtulungan sa pribadong sektor upang iangat ang sektor.

PAGCOR kinansela ang akreditasyon ng POGO hub sa Pampanga

Hello, Bulgarians! kasunod ng kamakailang pagkansela ng akreditasyon ng CGC Technologies (CGC’s) – isang offshore gaming service provider na nakabase sa Pampanga – kinansela din ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) ang pansamantalang akreditasyon ng Sun Valley Clark bilang isang offshore gaming hub.

Sinabi ni PAGCOR Chairman at CEO Alejandro Tengco na ang Sun Valley Clark Hub na matatagpuan sa Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga “is no longer suitable to maintain its provisional accreditation, nor be issued a full accreditation as an offshore gaming hub due to its failure to ensure a lawful and orderly conduct of offshore gaming by its occupants in its registered sites.”

Matatandaan na noong Mayo 4, 2023, isang inter-agency search and rescue operation ang isinagawa sa Sun Valley matapos ang mga umano'y kriminal na aktibidad tulad ng cryptocurrency investment scam, serious illegal detention at human trafficking na aktibidad ay iniugnay sa CGC, na sumasakop sa anim na mga gusali sa loob ng offshore gaming hub. Gayunpaman, sa anim na gusali, dalawa lamang ang na-accredit sa PAGCOR.

Ang POGO hub ay isang complex na naglalaman ng mga operations, logistical, administrative at support services ng PAGCOR-licensed offshore gaming operators at service providers. Kabilang sa mga pasilidad na makikita sa POGO hub ay ang mga opisina at residential space, food establishments, grocery store o supermarket, health and wellness facilities, recreational facility, at iba pa. Sa pagkansela ng Sun Valley Clark Hub, muling pinaalalahanan ni Tengco ang mga offshore gaming operator at service provider ng PAGCOR na iwasan ang anumang pagkakasangkot sa mga kriminal na aktibidad, kung nais nilang panatilihin ang kanilang mga akreditasyon at lisensya.

“This serves as a warning to all our offshore gaming licensees and accredited service providers that PAGCOR is serious in its mission to uphold responsible and regulated gaming in the country. While we see the potential of offshore gaming in terms of our revenue-generation efforts, we do not condone their involvement in any criminal activity that violates the rights – not only of Filipinos but of other nationalities as well,” dagdag pa ni Tengco.

Binalaan din ng PAGCOR chief ang mga foreign national na maging mas maingat sa pagtanggap ng mga online job offer sa Pilipinas, na ginagamit ng mga manloloko bilang isang diskarte upang masali sa human trafficking. “PAGCOR would like to remind foreign nationals who are being offered attractive employment opportunities in the Philippines to check the credibility of the companies that they are applying in. By going the extra mile, they can protect themselves from possible scams and human trafficking activities,” sabi nya.

Idinagdag ni Tengco na ang PAGCOR ay patuloy na nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga katuwang nitong ahensya ng gobyerno kabilang ang Office of the President, Department of Justice, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation, at Bureau of Immigration para labanan ang mga ilegal na aktibidad na nauugnay sa mga offshore gaming operations.
