89% PNP personnel bakunado na kontra-COVID-19

Nasa tinatayang 89 porsiyento ng mga kawani ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang fully vaccinated na kontra-COVID-19.

Sa isang radio interview ngayong Biyernes, sinabi ni PNP chief Police General Guillermo Eleazar na nasa 199,362 indibidwal mula sa mahigit 223,000 PNP personnel ang nakakumpleto na ng bakuna laban sa COVID-19, habang mahigit sa 21,000 o 10% ang naghihintay pa ng kanilang second dose ng vaccine.

“With our more than 223,000, pati na rin ‘yung mga non-uniformed personnel, 89% are fully vaccinated, that is 199,362,” ani Eleazar.

Ayon kay Eleazar nasa tinataya namang 1% ng PNP personnel ang babakunahan pa laban sa COVID-19.

Sa National Capital Region Police Office, sinabi ni Eleazar na 98% ng kanilang kawani ay fully vaccinated na habang ang natitirang 1% ay naghihintay ng kanilang second dose ng COVID-19 vaccine.

Survey ng Bloomberg sa COVID-19 resilience ranking kung saan kulelat ang Pinas, inalmahan ng palasyo

Tulad noong Setyembre, kulelat pa rin sa COVID-19 resilience ranking ang Pilipinas ngayong Oktubre, ayon sa survey ng Bloomberg.

Panghuli ang Pilipinas sa 53 bansa at teritoryong kasama sa pag-aaral kung saan nakapagtala ng lowest overall resilience score na 40.5.

Ayon sa ulat ng Bloomberg, nahuhuli ang Pilipinas pagdating sa pagbabakuna kung saan halos 26% pa lamang ng populasyon ang fully vaccinated.

Bagama’t nakapagbukas na ang ilang negosyo tulad ng mga gym, spa, sinehan at restaurant, malayo pa rin ito kumpara sa ibang mga bansa sa Southeast Asia na nagpapapasok na ng mga banyagang turista.

Samantala, tinawag na “unfair at biased” ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang naturang ulat ng Bloomberg.

“We feel the Bloomberg resilience data is practically unfair to our country. Number 1, it doesn’t cover all countries… It’s unfair to characterize our country as lowest because we’re not lowest in the world,” sabi ni DILG Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya.

“The countries they chose were mostly Western countries, which puts us at a disadvantage… We just started our universal healthcare. ‘Di talaga tayo tataas diyan, we’re a developing country… and the quality of life is also considered. In my opinion, it’s really a biased survey towards Western countries,” dagdag niya.

Inalmahan din ito ng Palasyo dahil sinabi ni presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na hindi buong mundo o 194 bansa ang isinama at tanging 53 lamang ang kanilang naisama sa survey.

COVID-19 antiviral pill na molnupiravir, ipapamahagi na sa Nobyembre

Nakatakdang ipamahagi ang COVID-19 antiviral pill na molnupiravir ngayong Nobyembre 2021 sa mga ospital na may "compassionate special permits."

Nasa mahigit 300,000 COVID-19 patients sa Pilipinas ang unang tatanggap nito, ayon sa Philippine healthcare products importer na MedEthix.

“A breakthrough drug is coming as MedEthix will launch the first molnupiravir in the country within November, and that’s already next month,” ani MedEthix co-founder Monaliza Salian.

“The CSP applicant doctors or the associations, the hospitals, will dispense molnupiravir to the patients with the description. So we will just confine ourselves with whatever is the requirements of the FDA,” dagdag niya.

Ayon naman kay Pharmaceutical company JackPharma Inc. president Meny Hernandez, twice a day ite-take ng pasyente ang gamot sa loob ng limang araw o depende sa payo ng doktor.

Maaari umanong magkahalaga ito ng P130 hanggang P150 pesos kada capsule.

“I would estimate… it’s probably anywhere between, on the market itself, hopefully, it will be somewhere in the vicinity of a P130 per pill,” ani Hernandez.

Sa panayam naman kay infectious disease expert Dr. Rontgene Solante, makatutulong ang molnupiravir lalo na sa mga senior citizens na may comorbidity para mapigilan ang severe infection ng COVID-19.
