Senado, no choice... VP Sara impeachment, tuloy

Tiniyak nina Senador Sherwin Gatchalian at Francis Tolentino sa publiko na tuloy ang impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte sa Hunyo 11.

“Wala namang choice ang Senado. Hindi ito desisyon ng mga senador. Ito ay constitutional responsibility ng mga senador,” wika ni Gatchalian sa Super Radyo dzBB.

“Walang uncertainty kasi dapat namin sundan ang Constitution. Klaro sa Konstitusyon na kailangang i-convene ang impeachment court once na na-transmit na sa Senado ang Articles of Impeachment,” punto ni Gatchalian.

Ganito rin ang naging pananaw ni Tolentino.

“Dapat mag-convene kasi tatanggapin namin ang Articles of Impeachment formally. 'Yung pagko-convene is part of the trial itself; 'yun 'yung simula when you take an oath,” wika ni Tolentino sa hiwalay na panayam ng dzBB.

Sinabi ni Tolentino na posibleng matapos ang impeachment trial sa loob ng 19 na araw, hanggang Hunyo 30.

Pagpalag ng DND sa China, suportado ng iba't ibang grupo

Nagdeklara ng suporta si Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jose Antonio Goitia kasama ang kanyang tatlong grupo ng Makabayang Pilipino sa pagpalag ni Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro sa mga tanong na ibinato ng dalawang mataas na opisyal ng militar ng Tsina, na maituturing umanong pambu-bully sa isinagawang taunang security forum na ginanap sa Shangri-La hotel sa Singapore.

Kasama sa mga sumuporta ang Alyansa ng Bantay Kapayapaan at Demokrasya (ABKD), Filipinos Do Not Yield (FDNY) Movement at Peoples Alliance for Democracy and Reform (PADER) na matagal nang nagpapakita ng kanilang pagtutol sa mga agresibong pag-atake ng Tsina sa Pilipinas na maituturing na paglabag sa kasunduan sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) noong Disyembre 10, 1982.

Ayon kay Goitia, ang mga binitiwang tanong ng dalawang opisyal ng Tsina ay isang pakana kay Sec. Teodoro upang magbigay ito ng marahas na tugon sa problema ng maritime dispute sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Idinagdag pa na ang kanilang grupo ay sumusuporta sa pahayag ni Sec. Teodoro na bagama't ang Pilipinas ay kabilang sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) ito ay isang sovereign country na may sariling territorial na integridad at soberanya na may respeto sa United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). 

Samantala, pangungunahan ng PADER ang pagsusulong ng mass actions sa Mendiola at sa harap ng Chinese Embassy sa Makati City habang ang dalawang grupo ng ABKD AT FDNY-Movement ay magra-rally sa harap ng tanggapan ng DND.

Puro kasinungalingan, palusot sa impeachment trial — Atty. Calleja... SP Chiz, may ambisyon sa 2028

“'Anyare Chiz Escudero? Dapat nga protektor ka ng batas hindi protektor ng massive corruption!” Ito ang tahasang sinabi ni Atty. Howard Calleja kasunod ng pagtuligsa nito kay Senate President Francis 'Chiz' Escudero matapos akusahang masyado nang hinaharang sa loob ng apat na buwan ang impeachment trial laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.  

Matatandaang noong Pebrero 5 ay isinumite sa Senado ang reklamo laban kay Duterte at isang oras matapos na matanggap ito ng Senado ay in-adjourned ni Escudero ang sesyon na imbes na magwawakas pa sa Pebrero 7 ng taong kasalukuyan.  

“From February 5 to June 5, dapat tapos na ang impeachment. Pero ang daming kesyo ni Chiz all of them lies and legal palusot because he wants the midterm elections to deliver more pro-Sara senators who will acquit her," ani Calleja. 

“Now that the pro-Sara senators had been elected, Chiz wants to make sure it is the new 20th Congress, not the present 19th Congress, that will try Sara. Chiz has been protecting Sara all along and making sure she will not be made to account for the hundreds of millions of confidential funds she has stolen from the people, from the masa, from the taxpayers, from the voters,” dagdag ni Calleja. 

"Chiz, in trying to protect Sara, is protecting corruption. He doesn't care about the people but only about himself and the votes he could get in 2028 from the Duterte camp at the very least," giit pa ni Calleja. 

Nahaharap sa akusasyon si VP Sara na umano'y tumangay ng P600 milyong confidential funds at paggamit ng mga pekeng pangalan bilang recipients.
