SM at TESDA, tungo sa lalong pagsulong ng edukasyon at trabaho

Pinagpatibay ng SM Supermalls ang kanilang pangako sa pagbibigay ng learning and upskilling opportunities sa mga Pilipino sa pagdiriwang ng ika-29 na anibersaryo ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), na ginanap sa SM Megamall Event Center noong Agosto 22.

Nagplano ang TESDA ng mga aktibidad na nagbibigay-diin sa kahalagahan ng Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sa pagpapalakas ng socio-economic standing ng mga Pilipino, kabilang ang isang seminar tungkol sa labor education para sa mga magtatapos na mag-aaral at skills demonstration sa pagluluto, first aid para sa vehicular accidents, at smart farming.

Ang pagdiriwang ay alinsunod din sa Republic Act No. 7796 na nagdedeklara sa ika-25 ng Agosto bilang "National Technical-Vocational (Tech-Voc) Day," kaya ginanap rin sa event ang job linking, TVET enrollment, at product displays at trade fairs mula sa iba't ibang rehiyon sa buong bansa.

Ang mga proyekto ng SM at TESDA ay nagbibigay ng mga bagong hanapbuhay sa mga Pilipino. Kabilang dito ang pagpapalawak ng Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Program na tumulong sa mga magsasaka, at ang SM Asensong Pinoy Program na nagbigay ng enterprise-based National Certificate (NC) II certification training.

Development plan para sa TVET sector, inilunsad ng TESDA

Inilunsad kahapon ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) ang National Technical Education and Skills Development Plan (NTESDP) 2023-2028, ang national blueprint ng technical vocational education and training (TVET) sector na may temang "MaGaling at MakaBagong TVET para sa Bagong Pilipinas; TVET as a Pathway to

Recovery and Special-Economic Transformation".

Pinangunahan nina TESDA Sec, Suharto Mangudadatu, United States Ambassador to the Philippines Marykay Carlson at DOLE Sec. Bienvenido Laguesma ang opisyal na paglulunsad ng development plan na ginanap sa Peninsula Hotel sa Makati City.

Nabuo ng TESDA ang NTESDP 2023-2028 sa pamamagitan ng konsultasyon sa iba't ibang stakeholders bilang mandato sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 7796 at sa suporta ng United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Sa patnubay ng AmBisyon Natin 2040,ang 8-point economic agenda, Philippine Development Plan (PDP), at ng Labor Employment Plan, sumailalim ang NTESDP 2023-2028 sa mga komprehensibong pagpaplano sa nasyunal at mga erya maging ng mga konsultasyon sa maraming sektor.

P15.3B budget para sa TESDA

Maglalaan ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ng P15. 3 bilyong pondo para sa Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) sa susunod na taon.

Sinabi ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman na pagtupad ito sa layunin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., na bigyan ng maayos na edukasyon at mapalakas pa ang skills development ng mga kabataang Filipino.

Bukod aniya sa pagpapalakas sa ekonomiya ng bansa, tututukan din ng gobyerno ang human capital development sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng maayos na edukasyon.

“Access to quality education will also be at the forefront of the government’s education agenda through the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE),” ani Pangandaman.

Sa budget message ni Pangulong Marcos, sinabi nito na kailangan tutukan ang job at skills mismatch sa bansa.

“By implementing targeted programs and initiatives, we can bridge the gap between job requirements and workers’ skills by equipping them with the necessary expertise to thrive in evolving industries. As the country’s economy continues to recover and the need for more skilled workers continues to rise, it is crucial to retrain, reskill, and retool our workforce,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Nabatid na may nakalaan ding P3.4 bilyon para sa TESDA’s Free Technical-Vocational Education and Training initiative kung saan makikinabang ang nasa 38,179 enrollees at 10,126 graduates.

Samantala, P200 milyon din na inilaan para sa education assistance sa Private Educational Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) program na magbibigay ng training fees at allowances sa 9,708 estudyante at 8,737 na graduates.
