Tinukoy ng mga awtoridad ang biktimang nasawi na si Alvin Mendoza, barangay chairman ng Barangay Alasas.

Batay sa kuha sa CCTV, kitang pinagbabaril ang biktima habang sakay ng kanyang SUV, bandang alas-7:00 ng umaga ngayong Sabado.

Patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng pulisya sa pagkakakilanlan ng mga salarin at motibo nito sa krimen.

Tatakbo na sanang konsehal si Mendoza sa San Fernando ngayong May 9 elections.

100K trabaho, naghihintay sa Labor Day job fairs – DOLE

Inianunsiyo ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ngayong Biyernes na libu-libong oportunidad sa trabaho ang naghihintay para sa mga jobseekers sa Labor Day, Mayo 1.

Kasabay ng pagdiriwang ng ika-120th Labor Day, ilulunsad ng DOLE ang Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job and Business Fairs na lalahukan ng 900 employers sa buong bansa.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ni DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III na nasa 102,426 local at overseas employment opportunities ang nakalaan sa mga jobseekers sa naturang fairs.

Ayon kay Bello, ang partisipasyon ng mga employers sa gaganaping May 1 job fairs ay isang patunay na nagbunga na ang ginagawang pagsisikap ng gobyerno para sa employment recovery ng bansa na matinding tinamaan ng pandemya.

“This job fair is one of the employment recovery strategies to restart economic activities, restore consumer and business confidence, upgrade and retool the workforce, and facilitate labor market access,” saad ni Bello.

Aniya, karamihan sa mga vacancies para sa 26 job fair sites ay iyong nasa manufacturing, business process outsourcing, at retail/sales industries.

Sinabi ni Bello, para sa mga naghahanap ng trabaho sa local employment, naghihintay sa kanila ang 73,671 jobs gaya ng production operators/machine operators, customer service representatives, collection specialists, retail/sales agents/promodisers, at sewers na iniaalok ng 817 employers.

Samantala, nasa 28,755 overseas jobs naman mula sa Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, Japan, Taiwan, at Singapore, ang iniaalok ng 73 recruitment agencies.

Ang top overseas vacancies ay para sa mga nurse/nurse aide; carpenter, foreman, at welder; food server; household service worker; at auditor.

Binanggit naman ni Bello na ang site para sa main job fair sa Mayo 1 ay gaganapin sa Kingsborough International Convention Center sa San Fernando City, Pampanga, kung saan mahigit sa 10,000 trabaho ang iniaalok ng 90 employers.

Ayon pa sa DOLE chief, karamihan sa mga bakanteng trabaho ay production operators, skilled sewers, customer service representatives, production helpers, call center agents, helpers, staff nurses, at collections specialists.

Loren Legarda inendorso ng Pampanga mayors sa pagka-senador

Pinasalamatan ni Senatorial candidate Loren Legarda ang Pampanga Chapter of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) sa pag-endorso sa kanya sa pagka-senador.

“The support that you are giving me now boosts my morale,” ani Legarda sa LMP-Pampanga Chapter online meeting.

“(It) inspires me even more to continue the brand of leadership that is compassionate, pro-people, and efficient with zero tolerance for corruption,” dagdag niya.

Ayon kay LMP-Pampanga President at Minalin Mayor Edgar Flores, na siyang nagsalita para sa 14 mayors na dumalo, suportado nila si Legarda dahil ang mga accomplishments nito bilang isang legislator ay nakatulong para sa mga Kapampangan.

Si Flores ay siya ring Vice President ng LMP sa Region 3.

“Kayo po ay masipag, magaling at madaling lapitan at hindi pa man kami lumalapit ay alam na ninyo kung paano kami matutulungan. Hindi po kami magdadalawang isip na kayo ay suportahan dahil nararapat po kayong bumalik sa Senado para mas marami pa po kayong matulungan,” aniya.

Bilang congresswoman nag-iisang distrito ng Antique, nakapaghatid din ng tulong si Legarda sa lalawigan ng Pampanga sa ilalim ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) TUPAD program na nagbigay ng emergency employment para sa mga displaced workers at unemployed.

Naglaan din siya ng pondo para sa Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) upang matulungan ang mga Kapampangans na nangangailangan ng burial services, medical aid, at financial support.

Nakapaglaan din si Legarda ng Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients (MAIP) sa pamamagitan ng Jose B. Lingad Memorial Regional Hospital, isang Department of Health (DOH)-retained hospital sa San Fernando, Pampanga.

“I am very thankful for your trust, and I am looking forward to working with all of you,” ani Legarda.

“Together, let us ensure that national government programs, especially for livelihood, employment, health, and education, are brought closer to the people,” dagdag niya.
