60 personnel ng MMDA, may COVID-19

Ipinahayag ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Romando Artes na nasa 60 personnel ng MMDA ang nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19.

Sa Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum ngayong Miyerkules, sinabi ni Artes na 100 empleyado ng MMDA ang sumailalim sa COVID-19 testing nitong Martes at nang lumabas ang kanilang resulta, tinatayang 60 indibidwal ang tinamaan ng coronavirus.

“Right now po, mayroon po tayong infections... in fact kahapon po nagpa-swab tayo ng may mga symptoms, out of 100, it was reported this morning, ‘yung na-swab kahapon, ay nasa 60 plus po ‘yung positive,” ani Artes.

Ayon sa opisyal, karamihan sa mga kaso ay mild at asymptomatic, kung saan halos lahat ng mga empleyado at workers ng MMDA ang nabakunahan na kontra-COVID-19.

Aniya, patuloy naman ang MMDA na nagsasagawa ng booster shots para sa kanilang mga manggagawa. Gayundin, nitong Martes, nakapag-administer sila ng booster shots para sa 680 personnel. Sinabi rin ni Artes na mayroong tinatayang 8,000 empleyado ng MMDA.

Kinumpirma ni House Deputy Speaker at Manila 6th District Representative Bienvenido “Benny” Abante ngayong Miyerkules na nagpositibo siya sa test sa COVID-19.

“As part of regular precautions we have undertaken in our home to protect ourselves, our family, and our loved ones from COVID-19, I recently got tested for COVID. This morning I received the results of my test, which revealed that I am COVID-positive,” ani Abante sa isang statement.

Ayon kay Abante, natukoy na niya ang mga naging direct contact nitong mga nakalipas na araw, at pinayuhan na ring sumailalim sa self-quarantine habang sinabihan silang dapat na i-monitor ang kanilang sarili sa anumang COVID-19 symptoms.

Sinabi ni Abante na sa ngayon, nakakaramdam siya ng pananakit ng katawan subalit mino-monitor naman siya ng kanyang mga doktor.

“Aside from being fully vaccinated, I have also received my booster shot -- and it is clear, in my view, that the vaccines have helped me in these two bouts with the virus,” sabi ng Deputy Speaker.

“I enjoin everyone -- especially senior citizens like myself -- to get vaccinated and to get their booster shots, especially with the rising number of COVID cases in the country,” dagdag ni Abante. Ayon pa sa mambabatas, ito na ang ikalawang beses na tinamaan siya ng COVID-19.

20 staffers may COVID-19.. Headquarters ng BBM-Sara UniTeam, isinara

Nakatakdang isara ang campaign headquarters nina presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong/BBM” Marcos Jr. at ng kanyang running-mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio simula Lunes matapos na ilang staffers ang nagpositibo sa test sa COVID-19, pahayag ng kanilang kampo.

Ayon sa spokesman ng dating senador na si Vic Rodriguez, iniutos ni Marcos ang pagsasara ng BBM-Sara UniTeam headquarters, “until further notice” matapos aniya, “more than 20 staff were tested positive today.”

Sinabi ni Rodriguez na nire-require sa campaign headquarters na lahat ng bisita at mga staff na sumailalim sa antigen tests ng tinatayang dalawang beses sa isang linggo upang masiguro ang kanilang kaligtasan.

Ayon pa sa spokesman, ang pagsasara nito ay para magbigay-daan sa disinfection.

Ani rin Rodriguez na si Marcos, “also ordered the deferment of all activities of the UniTeam starting today until January 15 this year.” “However, campaign preparations and other administrative functions of the UniTeam will proceed non-stop through work-from-home arrangements and virtual meetings of the concerned staffers and campaign personnel,” saad ni Rodriguez sa isang statement.

“In this regard, all public appearances, sorties and assemblies of the BBM-Sara UniTeam will be postponed during the said period,” wika pa ni Rodriguez.
