Sinabi ni United State President Donald Trump na ibababa sa 19% ang iimpose nilang 20% tariff para sa mga produktong nanggagaling sa Pilipinas kasunod ng kanilang pag-uusap ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. matapos itong bumisita sa Washington.

"It was a beautiful visit, and we concluded our Trade Deal, whereby The Philippines is going OPEN MARKET with the United States, and ZERO Tariffs. The Philippines will pay a 19% tariff," ayon kay POTUS Trump.

Idinagdag din niya na bukod sa pagpapababa ng taripa, magtatrabaho rin ang dalawang pacific allies sa aspeto ng militar ngunit wala itong ibinigay na iba pang detalye tungkol dito.

Pinasisigurado ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) na sinusunod ng mga private employer sa Metro Manila ang P50 minimum wage increase na naging epektibo noong Hulyo 18.

Ang naturang dagdag-sahod ay inaprubahan ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) noong Hunyo kung saan makikinabang 1.2 milyong manggagawa sa NCR.
