P600 M puslit na pekeng goods, nakumpiska ng BOC

Nakakumpiska ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) ng mahigit sa limandaang-milyong pisong halaga ng mga pekeng produkto sa Cavite.

Sa isang statement ng BOC ngayong Biyernes, sinabi nitong nasabat ang mga puslit na illegal goods na may estimated value na P600,000,000 sa Kawit, Cavite noong Marso 28, 2022 sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Rights Division (CIIS-IPRD).

Ayon sa BOC, ang kanilang implementing team na binubuo ng mga tauhan mula sa CIIS-IPRD, BOC-Port of Manila (POM), BOC Revenue Collection and Monitoring Group (RCMG) – Legal Service, at ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), ay nagsagawa ng inspeksyon sa isang warehouse na matatagpuan sa Toclong-San Sebastian Road, Kawit, Cavite.

Ang naturang inspection ay alinsunod sa isang Letter of Authority (LOA) na inisyu ng BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

“Prior sealing the subject warehouse, BOC examiners, in the presence of CIIS and the AFP operatives, conducted an inventory of the goods comprising of motorcycle accessories, footwears and apparels bearing the brands of Nike, Adidas, and Gucci, among others,” saad ng BOC.

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 10863 o ang Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) ay nakasaad, “infringing goods are prohibited articles and should immediately be seized or confiscated.”

Patuloy pa ang imbestigasyon sa posible namang paglabag sa Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (RA 8293) at ang CMTA, ayon pa sa BOC.

P9 milyong halaga ng pekeng sigarilyo nasabat sa Valenzuela

Nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang tinatayang P9 milyong halaga ng mga imported na pekeng sigarilyo sa isang warehouse sa Valenzuela City nitong Huwebes.

Ayon sa BOC, sa kanilang pag-iinspeksiyon ay natagpuan nila sa loob ng warehouse ang kahon-kahong pekeng sigarilyo tulad ng Marlboro Reds, Mighty, Modern Cigarettes, Carnival, Red Golden Dragon (RGD) Classic, at iba pa.

Ang mga pakete ng sigarilyo ay mayroong kahalintulad na Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) stamps at serial numbers, ayon sa BOC.

Mayroon din umanong iba pang kahon ng sigarilyo na natagpuan sa loob ng sasakyan na nasa storage area ng warehouse.

Dinala ang mga nasabat na pekeng sigarilyo sa BOC premises at nakatakdang isailalim sa seizure at forfeiture proceedings sa paglabag sa Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.

Ang joint operation na ito ay isinagawa ng Manila International Container Port-Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (MICP-CIIS) at ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Samantala, pinuri ni Customs Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Raniel Ramiro ang naturang operasyon dahil napigilan nito na makarating sa merkado ang mga pekeng produkto

“Our people trust us to do our jobs well, and that means ensuring that only safe and legal products enter our markets. It is upon the Bureau to protect the borders from these criminals, to free the local markets from illegal practices that put our efforts into question,” aniya.

Halos lahat ng presidential bets ay sinabing kung sila ang mananalong pangulo ay uunahin nilang labanan ang korapsiyon sa Bureau of Customs (BOC).

Nang tanungin kung anong ahensiya ang unang iimbestigahan hinggil sa mga alegasyon ng korapsiyon sa ginanap na CNN Philippines presidential debate, sinabi nina Ernesto Abella, Norberto Gonzales, Leody de Guzman, Panfilo Lacson, Faisal Mangondato, Jose Montemayor Jr., Isko Moreno, at Leni Robredo na mag-uumpisa sila sa BOC.

Si Manny Pacquiao ang nag-iisang nagsabi na magsisimula siyang mag-imbestiga sa Department of Health.
