Gilas Pilipinas U-18

Nalagay sa bracket Group B ang  49th-ranked Philippines sa Gilas Pilipinas U-18 kasama ang No. 86 Lebanon, No. 51 Syria at No. 96 Maldives, Group A ay ang no. 66 Iran, No. 48 Samoa, No. 73 Hong Kong at No. 100 Kyrgyzstan.

"Winning it all in SEABA means a lot to us,” ani Amos. “We really wanted to qualify to the FIBA Asia Division B, and for us to be there we have to win against the host country Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.”

“We prepared every game with a championship game mentality. They worked hard together and played like a solid  team in every game. I think that’s one reason why the girls enjoyed playing together because everybody is willing to sacrifice for each other.”

“Our success in the Thailand FIBA Qualifiers means a lot to us, in showing that this team has big potential at making a great run in the FIBA Asian Championships coming up in China,” ani Ava Fajardo isa sa Gilas women's top gunner.

“It was an impressive run by the girls showing what they are capable of,” ani Gilas Women coach at U18 consultant Patrick Aquino.

Sa pirmadong Memorandum Circular 49 na may petsang Mayo 13 ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, inatasan ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang “all government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations, are hereby directed, and all local government units are encouraged, to extend full support to the Philippine hosting of volleyball and beach volleyball events in 2024.”

Maliban sa AVC Women’s Challenge Cup, idaraos din ng National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) ang Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men’s Week Three sa Hunyo 18-23 sa SM Mall of Asia Arena, ang Volleyball World Challenger Cup sa Hulyo 4-7 sa Ninoy Aquino Stadium, maging ang Southeast Asia Volleyball League for Men and Women sa Agosto 13-25 sa City of Santa Rosa Sports Complex at ang Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Challenge sa Nob. 28 hanggang Dis.1 sa Nuvali Sand Courts by Ayala Land sa Santa Rosa.

“We are grateful to President Marcos Jr. and to Executive Secretary Bersamin for their support, which the PNVF believes would help further elevate Philippine volleyball to world-class level,” ayon kay PNVF head Ramon “Tats” Suzara. (MC)

“The final game was designed to Tolentino and he did it in style,” sabi ni coach Bonnie Tan matapos iligtas ni Tolentino ang North Port sa nagbantang panganib.

“He is our franchise player. I instructed him to do the last play.
