Paskong TernoCon 2023 at SM Aura spotlights design icons Lesley Mobo and Joey Samson

In a first collaboration between SM Supermalls, Bench / lifestyle + clothing, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), the highly anticipated TernoCon 2023 is set to redefine Philippine fashion with acclaimed fashion designers Lesley Mobo and Joey Samson.

This year's TernoCon is scheduled for December 9, 2023, at SM Aura, with the theme “Paskong TernoCon.” It is a unique celebration of Filipino heritage and artistry, bringing together two visionaries whose innovative perspectives have left an indelible mark in the industry.

Lesley Mobo is renowned for his avant-garde designs that seamlessly blend tradition with modern aesthetics, earning him accolades globally. The London-based fashion designer has collaborated with major brands such as the Italian clothing company Diesel and Japanese retailer Uniqlo. Notably, his creations have adorned celebrities including Kate Moss and singer Rihanna.

Fashion maestro Lesley Mobo redefines the classic terno, elevating its traditional boundaries.

Joey Samson, a minimalist maestro, is revered for his contemporary take on traditional Filipino attire. His designs, particularly his modern interpretation of the Barong Filipino, are characterized by clean lines, romantic undertones, and timeless elegance, establishing him as one of the leading figures in Philippine fashion.

The sartorial event is more than just a fashion show; it’s a celebration of Filipino heritage. Mobo and Samson's collections will emphasize the rich and diverse Filipino culture, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship and artistic legacy that have shaped the nation’s identity.

Breaking away from tradition, it will be held for the first time outside CCP, with SM Aura providing an accessible platform to reach a wider audience.

As a visual feast for the senses, the fashion showcase will be set against the backdrop of SM Aura's Filipino Christmas theme. The centerpiece is a 33-foot Christmas tree adorned with handmade ornaments using locally sourced materials, including capiz, rattan, and abaca, topped with a 3-foot capiz shell star symbolizing the Star of Bethlehem.

A biennial gathering, TernoCon unites top Filipino designers and showcases the beauty of traditional attire. Rooted in cultural heritage and innovation, it stands as a landmark occasion in the Philippine fashion calendar.

Heaven, nagpa-sexy para sa women empowerment

Isang pangarap na natupad para kay Heaven Peralejo ang mapili bilang calendar girl ng Ginebra San Miguel para sa taong 2024.

Ipinakita ni Heaven ang pagiging proud bilang representative ng liquor company sa 2024 GSMI Calendar Girl launch sa The Westin Manila, Pasig City, noong ika-30 ng Nobyembre.

Sa kanyang pakikipag-usap sa media, sinabi ni Heaven na nagbibigay sa kanya ang proyektong ito ng pagkakataon na iparating ang isang mensahe tungkol sa women empowerment sa pamamagitan ng fashion choices ng mga kababaihan.

Sabi niya sa isang media interview, "Even though you're wearing bikinis and everything like that, you are still empowering... to have jobs, like serious jobs. Like hindi naman pag naka-bikini ka, 'O my god, you cannot be a lawyer or anything like that,' it's more than that. It's also, parang, it's all about... making yourself feel good. So kahit ano pang isuot mo as long as you're confident and as long as you know that you are comfortable with what you wear, yeah, that's it."

Para kay Heaven, ang pagiging calendar girl ay hindi nangangahulugang pagiging sex symbol, ngunit kahit na gano’n, ano naman daw ang masama doon?

Nilinaw niya, "It doesn't necessarily mean na pag nag-calendar girl ako, kailangan ko na maghubad or what…”

“Being a calendar girl, it's about representing the brand, not just about being sexy but also representing Filipinas. I don't even think my calendars are too sexy. I think, like, it's just about empowering women and what it stands for... yun naman yung nagustuhan ko sa Ginebra kasi they never made me do that,” dagdag niya pa.

HEART, NAKIPAGSABAYAN SA MGA RAMP MODELS SA VICTORIA’S SECRET

Pinatunayan ni Heart Evangelista na kahit petite at 5’2” lang ang height niya, kaya niyang makipagsabayan sa pagrampa sa matatangkad na foreign ramp models.

Hindi siya natatalbugan ng mga international models dahil kabog ni Heart ang mga tisay na models sa pagdadala ng mga designer’s outfits.

Kilalang-kilala na si Heart ng mga sikat na fashion designers na nakakasabay niya sa Paris, New York at Milan Fashion Week. Si Heart na mismo ang iniimbita ng mga organizers kapag may malalaking fashion events abroad.

Recently, sa pagbubukas ng Victoria’s Secrets sa Singapore ay si Heart ang special guest at nakasabay niya sa pagrampa ang magaganda at matatangkad na Victoria’s Secrets models.

Kaya naman, super proud, excited at masaya si Heart sa bago niyang experience na naging ambassadress ng Victoria’s Secrets. Malaking achievement na ito para sa kanya.

Samantala, gusto na ring balikan ni Heart ang pag-arte. Nagpaparamdam na siya sa mga big bosses ng GMA Network. Pero hindi serye kundi pelikula ang gusto niyang gawin na ang kapareha ay si Alden Richards.

Pabor naman ang mga fans niya sa pagtatambal nila ni Alden. Nagkita at nagkausap na sina Heart at Alden sa block screening ng Five Breakups & A Romance at pareho silang excited sa magiging project nila together.
