Movie Queen na si Mila del Sol, pumanaw na sa edad 97

Pumanaw na ngayong Martes ang aktres at isa sa mga kinikilalang reyna ng Golden Age ng Philippine Cinema na si Mila del Sol sa edad na 97.

"It is with a heavy heart that I share that my beloved grandmother, Ms. Mila del Sol, our Lulay, ang Reyna ng Pinilakang-Tabing, passed away this morning at 1:10am. She passed away in the home of her eldest son and my father, Sonny Tambunting," bahagi ng apo nitong si Parañaque Rep. Gus Tambunting.

"Being the link of the pre-war and the post-war era, Lola’s contributions to laying down the foundations of Philippine cinema has allowed her to be recognized as a true cornerstone of the industry," dagdag pa ni Tambunting.

Bago pumanaw, si del Sol na lamang ang natitirang movie star mula sa Golden Age of The Philippine Cinema sa 1930s at 1940s.

Pinagbidahan ni del Sol ang halos 40 pelikula sa pre-war at post-war era kabilang ang Ibong Adarna (1949) at Villa Hermosa (1941).

Sinulog Festival 2021, tuloy

Tuloy ngunit mas sisimplehan na ang pagdiriwang ng Sinulog Festival sa 2021, ayon sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Cebu City dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Sa inilabas na advisory sa Facebook, sinabi ng pamahalaang lokal ng Cebu City at Basilica Minore del Santo Niño na may ilang aktibidad ang ipagpapaliban sa pagdiriwang ng ika-456 taon ng Fiesta Señor upang maiwasan ang mass gathering at ito ay ang mga sumusunod:

• Penitential Walk with Jesus on the Opening Salvo

• Penitential Walk with Mary on the last day of the Novena

• Traslacion or the transfer of the images of the Sto. Niño and Our Lady of Guadalupe from Cebu City to Mandaue City and from Mandaue City to Lapu-Lapu City

• Fluvial procession and the reenactment of the first baptism, planting of the cross, and first wedding

• Solemn foot procession

• Proposed Cebu Provincial Pilgrimages

"The Augustinian friars and the Executive Committee of the Fiesta Señor, with the support of the Cebu City Government, will reappropriate the cancelled external activities to the upcoming 500 years celebration of the Arrival of the venerable image of Sr. Sto. Niño in coordination with the activities of the Archdiocese of Cebu in April 2021," dagdag pa sa inilabas na pahayag sa Facebook.

Ipinagdiriwang ang kapistahan ng Sinulog tuwing Enero upang bigyang-karangalan ang Sto. Niño (Holy Infant Jesus).

Bukod sa prusisyon at misa, ilan din sa mga dinarayo ng mga turista rito ay ang street parties, concert, singing contest, beauty pageant at marami pang iba.

Co-creator ng Scooby-Doo na si Ken Spears, pumanaw na

Pumanaw na ngayong Martes sa edad na 82 si Ken Spears, isa sa mga co-creators ng tanyag na cartoon na “Scooby-Doo” dahil sa kumplikasyon sa dementia.

Ayon sa anak nitong si Kevin, maaalala ang kanyang tatay sa kanyang story-telling, katapatan sa pamilya at kasipagan sa trabaho.

"Ken has not only made a lasting impression on his family, but he has touched the lives of many as co-creator of ‘Scooby-Doo.’ Ken has been a role model for us throughout his life and he will continue to live on in our hearts," dagdag ni Kevin.

Matatandaang 3 buwan ang nakalipas nang mamatay din ang co-creator nito sa “Scooby-Doo” na si Joe Ruby sa edad na 87.

Bukod sa “Scooby-Doo” na unang ipinalabas noong 1969, nakilala rin sila sa mga sikat na palabas tulad ng “Thundarr na Barbarian,” “Alvin and the Chipmunks” at “Fangface”.
