Inanunsyo ng Beep, operator ng stored value card na ginagamit sa LRT at MRT, na tinanggal na nila ang Stored Value Updaters (SVUs) at Express Renewal Devices (ERDs) sa mga istasyon ng tren dahil outdated 3G technology pa umano ang gamit ng mga ito.


“Passengers can conveniently use the beep mobile app to check their card balance and instantly retrieve load transactions by tapping their beep card on an NFC-enabled smartphone,” ayon sa anunsyo.


Samantala, available pa rin ang ticket vending machines at point-of-sale tellers sa lahat ng istasyon nito para sa lahat ng klase ng transaksyon.

Nagpaplano ang Office of the Ombudsman na gumamit ng artificial intelligence (AI) para imbestigahan at usigin ang mga kasong graft at corruption.


Sinabi ito ni Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla sa deliberasyon ng Senate Committee on Finance sa panukalang P6.390 bilyong budget ng naturang tanggapan para sa 2026.


“In light of the digitization stage that we want to undergo, probably we will also seek to ask experts in artificial intelligence to help us process information faster. Because of the volume of the documents that we have and the volume of transactions, we may have to go AI, and we’re just having a consultant to give us advice very soon,” ani Remulla.


Dagdag nito, isang magandang pagkakataon din aniya na simulan ang paggamit ng teknolohiya upang labanan ang katiwalian. Ang AI aniya ay maaaring paikliin ang paghabol o i-cut na lamang ang paghahabol sa mga tiwali.


Malugod namang tinanggap ni Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, chairman ng komite, ang naturang development, sinabi na ang kanyang team ay gumagamit din ng AI upang tulungan silang mag-analisa at magbigay ng mga buod ng malalaking ulat.
