P-Du30, bibisitahin mga lalawigang hinagupit ng Bagyong Odette

Inanunsiyo ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ngayong Biyernes ng gabi na bibisitahin niya ang mga probinsiya na tinamaan ng Bagyong Odette upang alamin ang kondisyon ng mga tao at buong sitwasyon sa mga lugar doon.

“I’m flying tomorrow to the area, also maybe I would hit Leyte, Surigao and if there is time [in] Bohol and the day after I will try to visit Cebu then dito sa eastern side of the islands,” ani Pangulong Duterte sa isang press briefing.

Ayon kay P-Duterte, nakikipag-usap na siya sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) para sa paglalaan ng pondo na gagamitin sa tinatawag na calamity-stricken areas, habang giit ng Pangulo na ang funds ay naubos na dahil ito sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Ipinahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ngayong Huwebes na ang P68.2-billion Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT7) ay magiging partially operational sa ikaapat na quarter ng 2022.

Ginawa ni Pangulong Duterte, kung saan magtatapos ang termino nito sa Hunyo 30, 2022, ang pahayag sa ginanap na pagpapasinaya ng bagong MRT7 train sets sa isang programa sa Commonwealth Avenue sa Diliman, Quezon City.

Ang MRT7 ay isang 24.7-kilometer railway na mayroong 14 stations na magkokonekta sa San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan at North Avenue sa Quezon City ng 35 minuto lamang. Inaasahang magseserbisyo ito sa tinatayang 300,000 pasahero sa kanilang unang taon ng operasyon at hanggang 850,000 passengers naman araw-araw pagsapit ng ika-12 taon nito. Ang progress rate ng MRT 7 ay nasa 62%.

“We are committed to make it partially operational by the fourth quarter of 2022,” ani Pangulong Duterte. “The MRT7 project will provide the public with a fast, efficient, convenient, safe and reliable transportation system that would result in the increased productivity of workers and businesses in Metro Manila and its nearby provinces.”

Sinabi din ng Punong Ehekutibo, “It is also good to know that this new train system will help minimize air pollution as it is a greener and more energy-efficient means of transportation. It will likewise contribute to a healthier and cleaner environment, thereby improving the livability of the nation’s capital.”

Ayon pa sa Pangulo, ang mga kapareho ring programa ng gobyerno ay dapat nang iimplementa para mabenepisyuhan ang mga mamamayan.

“I enjoin all government agencies to ensure the prompt implementation and completion of significant government projects, while still upholding transparency, integrity and accountability in each operation,” sabi ni P-Duterte.

Gayundin, ininspeksyon ni Pangulong Duterte ang isa sa mga train sets sa naturang event.

P-Du30 EO: Lapulapu, hindi Lapu-Lapu

Naglabas si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng Executive Order 152 ngayong Martes na nag-aatas sa publiko at pribadong sektor na tukuyin ang unang Pilipinong bayani bilang Lapulapu sa halip na Lapu-Lapu.

Nakasaad sa EO 152 na ang pinakaunang interpretasyon sa Latin alphabet ng pangalan ng bayani ng Mactan ay “Cilapulapu,” na may “Ci” na mistulang isang honorific title, kung saan ang mga founding heroes gaya nina Jose Rizal at Juan Luna ay nabuo ang kanilang sariling pagturing dito bilang “Si Lapulapu.”

“The name Lapulapu is understood to refer to the Filipino hero who bravely and victoriously fought in the Battle of Mactan [against the Spaniard colonizers] in the 16th century. Thus, all references to the name “Lapu-Lapu” in EO No. 17, as amended, and EO No. 55, as amended, are hereby amended to read as Lapulapu,” batay sa EO.

“Adopting a common rendering of the name of Lapulapu, so as to conform to earlier references, will aid in the education of our youth about Philippine history which is foundational to the formation of national identity,” ayon pa sa EO 152.

Dahil dito at batay sa EO 152, ang lahat ng ahensiya ng gobyerno at instrumentalities, kabilang ang government-owned or-controlled corporations, maging ang state universities at kolehiyo, gayundin, ang mga local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations, civil society groups, at ang pribadong sektor, “are hereby enjoined to adopt Lapulapu when referring to the name of the first Filipino hero.”

Gayunman, nakasaad din sa EO na ang mga lugar na nakapangalan na sa Lapu-Lapu gaya ng Lapu-Lapu City sa Cebu ay mananatiling Lapu-Lapu ang reference dahil ang mga ito ay itinatag na may statute.
