Sulfur sa pagsabog ng Bulkang Taal, delikado sa mata at balat

Nagbabala ang Department of Health (DOH) sa publiko lalo na sa mga residenteng nakatira malapit sa Bulkang Taal sa panganib na maaaring idulot ng sulfur dioxide na ibinubuga nito.

Pinayuhan ng DOH ang mga residente na magsuot ng protective gear kapag lalabas ng bahay dahil ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, maaaring magdulot ng eyes, skin at respiratory system irritation ang sulfur dioxide mula sa bulkan.

Ani Vergeire, “Ang mga panganib na dulot ng pagkilos nitong bulkan ay may kaakibat din pong panganib sa ating kalusugan.”

Aniya pa, “Magsuot po kayo ng dust mask o N95 mask, proteksiyon sa mata tulad ng goggles, at proteksiyon sa balat kung kayo ay lalabas ng bahay.

“Higit sa lahat, manatili po tayong alerto sa mga kaganapang ito at sumunod po tayo sa mga warning o abiso ng inyong LGU (local government unit).”

Samantala, ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, patuloy pa rin ang pagpapalikas sa mga residente ng high-risk barangays katulad ng Laurel at Agoncillo at sa iba pang munisipalidad ng Batangas.

Saad pa ni Roque, “LGUs are leading the efforts on the ground through their Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices with the support of counterparts in the line agencies.

“The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 4-A is on heightened alert and has stockpiles of relief support consisting of food packs amounting to 1.4-M pesos and non-food items worth 11-M pesos.”

Nagsagawa naman umano ng Joint Task Force Taal ang Armed Forces of the Philippines Southern Luzon Command upang tumulong sa mga operasyon ng Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council at LGUs.

Alerto rin ang Philippine National Police (PNP) at nagpadala na ng mga sasakyan ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Logistics Systems Command na magagamit sa humanitarian assistance.

Saad pa ni Roque, “We ask residents in the areas surrounding the volcano lake to remain vigilant, take precautionary measures, cooperate with their local authorities should the need for evacuation arise.”

Inaprubahan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang rekomendasyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force on emerging infectious diseases (IATF-EID) na quarantine classifications sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa ngayong darating na buwan ng Hulyo.

Inirekomenda ng IATF na isailalim ang NCR Plus na binubuo ng Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna at Rizal sa general community quarantine (GCQ) “with restrictions” hanggang sa July 15.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, inaprubahan na ni P-Duterte na ipatupad ang GCQ “with some restrictions” sa Metro Manila, Rizal, at Bulacan habang GCQ “with heightened restrictions” naman sa Laguna at Cavite.

Papairalin naman ang modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) sa Cagayan, Apayao, Bataan, Lucena City, Puerto Princesa, Naga City, Iloilo City, Iloilo, Negros Oriental, Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Del Norte, Cagayan De Oro City, Davao City, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, Davao De Oro, Davao Del Sur, Davao Del Norte, Butuan City, Dinagat Islands, at Surigao Del Sur.

Isasailalim din sa GCQ ang Baguio City, Ifugao, City of Santiago, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Batangas, Quezon, Guimaras, Aklan, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Antique, Capiz, Zamboanga Sibugay, City of Zamboanga, Iligan City, General Santos City, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, Cotabato, South Cotabato, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, Agusan del Sur, at Cotabato City.

Modified GCQ naman ang paiiralin sa iba pang bahagi ng bansa.

June 24-July 3, ‘National Mourning’ sa pagpanaw ni PNoy

Idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Period of National Mourning simula kahapon, June 24 hanggang sa July 3 dahil sa pagpanaw ni dating Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III noong Huwebes nang umaga dahil sa renal disease secondary to diabetes.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, nilagdaan ni P-Duterte ang Proclamation No. 1169 kung saan napapaloob ang Period of National Mourning.

Saad ni Roque, "In this regard, the national flag shall be flown at half-mast from sunrise to sunset on all government buildings and installations throughout the Philippines and abroad for a period of ten days.

"Let us continue to pray and pay respects to the former President who gave his best to serve our nation and our people.”
