Binati ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Russian President Vladimir Putin para sa okasyon ng Russia Day noong June 12. Mensahe ni P-Duterte kay Putin, “I warmly congratulate Your Excellency and the people of the Russian Federation on the occasion of Russia Day.


“On this day of national unity and celebration, let me convey the Filipino people’s best wishes for the continued success and prosperity of your great nation.”


Umaasa rin umano si P-Duterte na magpapatuloy pa at mas magiging matatag ang relasyon ng Russia at Pilipinas sa panunungkulan ni Putin.


Saad pa ni P-Duterte, “This year, the Philippines and Russia mark 45 years of warm and fruitful ties. It was my great pleasure to have commemorated this special milestone with Your Excellency on the 2nd of June.


“I am confident that our strong relations will continue to thrive in the years ahead as we deepen cooperation in more areas of mutual interest, including in our common fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Pinangunahan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang paggunita sa 123rd Independence Day na ginanap sa Bulacan Capitol Grounds sa Malolos, Bulacan noong Sabado. Kasamang dumalo ni P-Duterte sina Senator Bong Go, Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, PNP Chief Guillermo Eleazar, at Armed Forces Chief Cirilito Sobejana.


Naroon din sina National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chairperson Dr. Rene Escalante, Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando, at Malolos Mayor Gilbert Gatchalian. Nagbigay-pugay din si P-Duterte sa mga bayaning sina Heneral Gregorio Del Pilar at Marcelo H. Del Pilar.


Samantala, mensahe rin ni P-Duterte sa mga Pilipino, sundan ang yapak ng mga magigiting na bayani lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya at nagbigay-pugay din siya sa mga health workers, atbp. frontliners.


Aniya pa, "The Philippines has indeed come a long way since the time of the heroes we honor today. We are now a nation that is modern, progressive, and ever-thriving.


"However, our continued progress will only be possible if we have a strong understanding and appreciation of the liberties that we enjoy today. Let us move forward in solidarity and give greater meaning to the freedom of our forebearers achieved for us."


Ayon din kay P-Duterte, magkakaroon na rin ng Wall of Heroes sa Libingan ng mga Bayani bilang pagbibigay-pugay sa mga namatay na health workers.


Aniya pa, “At lahat ng mga namatay — mga doctors, mga nurses… will be honored by their name inscribed in that wall. It is now being built, and I’d like to thank the Armed Forces of the Philippines for their pagmamalasakit.”

Isinagawa ang flag raising ceremonies sa Luneta Park, Manila ngayong Sabado para sa paggunita sa 123rd Independence Day ng Pilipinas.


Pinangunahan ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra ang flag raising ceremony, kasama si Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno.


Dumalo rin sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kalayaan si National Historical Commission of the Philippines Chairperson Rene Escalante.


Nag-alay din ng bulaklak ang mga opisyal sa monumento ng pambansang bayani na si Dr. Jose Rizal.


Hindi nakadalo si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ngunit nagpadala siya ng video message.


Mensahe ng pangulo, "The challenges of the past years have tested our character as a nation. Each of us have been called upon to be heroes in our own right, fighting for our survival and devoting ourselves to the common good just as our heroes did more than a century ago.


“With their noble example, inspiring us to look forward to the brighter future, filled with hope that we will overcome the challenges brought by this pandemic."
