PBA ang host… Carpio, kumasa sa hamong debate ni P-DU30 dahil sa WPS

Handang magsilbing host ang Philippine Bar Association (PBA) sa debate sa pagitan nina Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio tungkol sa isyu sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Matapos tanggapin ni Carpio ang hamong debate ni P-Duterte, ayon kay Philippine Bar Association President Rico Domingo, handa ang organisasyon na mag-host nang libre sa oras at petsa na mapagkakasunduan ng dalawa.

Aniya, "As the oldest voluntary private organization of lawyers in the country, the PBA will provide a balanced arena fit for two lawyers of eminent stature and experience to dispassionately discuss the core issues relating to the dispute on the West Philippine Sea.

“The PBA stands ready to provide this forum for free and at no cost to either parties conformably with its staunch advocacy to promote the rule of law.”

Tinanggap naman ni Carpio ang alok ng PBA na maging host ng naturang debate.

Aniya pa, “I am happy to accept the offer of PBA to host and moderate the debate.”

Sa public address ni P-Duterte noong Miyerkules, hinamon niya ng debate si Carpio.

Saad pa ng pangulo, “Supreme Court Justice, pareho man tayo abugado. Gusto – eh, gusto mo magdebate tayo?”

Aniya ay sangkot si Carpio sa desisyong pagpapaalis ng barko ng Pilipinas sa standoff sa mga barko ng China sa Scarborough Shoal noong 2012.

Handa rin umano siyang magbitiw sa puwesto kapag napatunayang mali ang kanyang pahayag.

Pinabulaanan naman ni Carpio ang mga sinabi ni P-Duterte at aniya ay dapat na itong mag-resign “to keep his word of honor.”

Muling tuturukan ng Sinopharm vaccine si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte para sa kanyang second dose ng bakuna kontra COVID-19, ayon sa Malacañang.

Kamakailan ay nagdesisyon si P-Duterte na ibalik ang 1,000 Sinopharm doses donation ng China dahil hindi pa ito nabibigyan ng emergency use authorization (EUA) sa bansa.

Saad naman ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “Siyempre, hindi ibabalik ‘yung pang-second dose ni Presidente para matapos niya ang second dose niya.”

Noong Lunes, binakunahan si P-Duterte gamit ang Sinopharm at nu’ng Miyerkules, humingi siya ng paumanhin sa mga medical experts at pinababalik nito kay Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian ang 1,000 vaccines upang maiwasan umano ang mga kritisismo dahil hindi pa aprubado ng FDA ang naturang bakuna ngunit ginamit na ng pangulo dahil sa compassionate special permit (CSP).

Ayon kay Sec. Roque, “Sabi ni Presidente, para mawala na ‘yung ganyang kritisismo at habang siya pa lang ang gumagamit sa 1,000 na pagbakuna, siyempre, mas mabuting ibalik na muna sa Tsina.”

Muling binatikos ni retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte dahil sa mga naging pahayag nito kaugnay sa sigalot sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Kinontra ni Carpio ang naging pahayag ni P-Duterte na wala siyang ipinangakong pagbawi sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) sa China nang kumandidato siya sa pagka-pangulo noong 2016.

Ayon kay Carpio, noong 2016 presidential debate, idineklara ni P-Duterte na magdye-jet ski siya sa Scarborough Shoal kung saan itatayo niya ang bandila ng Pilipinas.

Sa public address ni P-Duterte noong Lunes nang gabi, aniya, “I never, never in my campaign as president, promised the people that I would retake the West Philippine Sea. I did not promise that I would pressure China. I never mentioned about China and the Philippines in my campaign because that was a very serious matter.”

Samantala, sa televised debate noong 2016, saad ni P-Duterte, “Pupunta ako sa China. ‘Pag ayaw nila, then I will ask the Navy to bring me to the nearest boundary diyan sa Spratlys, Scarborough. Bababa ako, sasakay ako ng jet ski, dala-dala ko 'yung flag ng Filipino at pupunta ako roon sa airport nila, tapos itanim ko. Then I would say, ‘This is ours and do what you want with me. Bahala na kayo.’”

Saad pa ni Carpio, "President Duterte cannot now say that he never discussed or mentioned the West Philippine Sea issue when he was campaigning for President.

"Otherwise, he would be admitting that he was fooling the Filipino people big time."

"There is a term for that— grand estafa or grand larceny. Making a false promise to get 16 million votes.”
