Iginiit ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. na kinakailangan ang masusing pag-aaral sa hiling na taas-sahod ng mga manggagawa dahil may epekto ito sa negosyo, trabaho at ekonomiya.


Ginawa ni Marcos ang pahayag nang pangunahan ang pagdiriwang ng 123rd Labor Day celebration sa SMX Convention Center sa Mall of Asia sa Pasay City, kahapon.


"Sa usapin naman ng pagtaas ng suweldo, masarap pakinggan ang matatamis na mga pangako, ngunit ang mga ito ay may epekto sa paglago ng negosyo, trabaho, at ekonomiya. Kaya’t kailangan na pag-aralan natin nang mabuti," pahayag ni Marcos.


Nauna nang nanawagan ang Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) kay Marcos na i-certify as urgent ang P200 legislated wage hike kung saan idinahilan ang pagtaas sa mga gastos sa pampublikong transportasyon.


Gayunman, tiniyak ng Pangulo na pinakikinggan ng gobyerno ang panawagan ng mga manggagawang Pilipino para sa mas mataas na sahod at ang kanilang mga alalahanin ay tinutugunan sa pamamagitan ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) sa buong bansa.


Binanggit din ng Pangulo na may kabuuang 16 na rehiyon sa buong bansa ang nagpatupad na ng minimum wage increase mula noong Hunyo ng nakaraang taon.


Samantala, inihayag naman ni Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma na nakatakdang magsimula ang RTWPB sa National Capital Region ng bagong round ng pag-uusap para sa posibleng minimum wage hike sa kalagitnaan ng buwan.

(FFCCCII) today April 6, 2025, announced the election of industrialist and philanthropist Victor Lim as its new President following a three-day biennial national convention and three rounds of voting by 800 delegates representing 170 Filipino Chinese business chambers and organizations. The convention was held at SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. 


Lim succeeds outgoing President Dr. Cecilio K. Pedro, who led FFCCCII’s post-pandemic recovery and digitalization initiatives from 2023-2025. The transition marks a new chapter for the 71-year-old federation, the Philippines’ largest coalition of Filipino Chinese entrepreneurs and philanthropists.  Aside from progressive business and economic advocacies, FFCCCII spearheads numerous socio-civic and cultural charities.
