Presidential aspirant Pacquiao, hindi pabor sa paulit-ulit na lockdown

Inihayag ni presidential aspirant Manny Pacquiao sa Presidential One-on-One Interview ni Boy Abunda na sisiguraduhin niyang hindi mauulit ang naranasan ng mga Pilipino na pabalik-balik na lockdown, sakaling siya ang manalong presidente.

Ayon kay Pacquiao, napakaraming negosyo ang naapektuhan at marami ang nawalan ng trabaho na sanhi ng pagkagutom ng mga Pilipino.

Dagdag pa ng senador, mabuting diskarte ay isang lockdown lang kasabay ang agresibong pagbabakuna sa mga gusto ng vaccine. Matapos nito ay agad na pagbubukas ng ekonomiya o negosyo.

Hindi rin daw dapat pilitin ang mga ayaw magpabakuna.

Aniya pa, dapat may nakakasa nang programa ang gobyerno sakaling may bago na namang COVID variant na lumabas.

“Dapat may mga programang nakaabang dyan. Ang sinasabi ko dito magkaroon tayo ng long term concrete plans. Kasama sa plano… magdevelop ng imprastraktura (para sa COVID),” aniya.

Pacquiao, tinanggalan ng titulo ng WBA

Inalis na ng World Boxing Association (WBA) ang Welterweight “Super” Welterweight Champion title ni Manny Pacquiao matapos ideklarang “champion in recess” ang senador.

Pahayag ng WBA, "Filipino Manny Pacquiao has been named Champion in Recess by the World Boxing Association (WBA) in a resolution issued by the Championships Committee, while Cuban Yordenis Ugas was promoted to Welterweight Super Champion.

"Rule C.22-24 states that when a champion is unable to defend the belt for medical, legal or other reasons beyond his control, he may be named champion in recess."

Napanalunan ni Pacquiao ang "super" title noong July 2019 matapos pabagsakin si American Keith Thurman.

Samantala, todo-pasasalamat naman si Ugas sa naturang balita.

Aniya sa kanyang tweet, “Thank God, my agent, my team, family and fans today is a great day for me. Thanks to the WBA for raising me to Super Champion and doing what is best for Sport. “Manny Pacquiao is a legend and he will always be champion, his intention was Mcgregor and now Ryan, but you cannot... behind your history, hijack a championship. This gives fans a chance to see a great unification fight at 147 lbs.

"I don't want this position for easy fights. My team has my consent for my next fight to fight Pacquiao if he wants to show who he is the true WBA champion or another of the champions for a great unification fight.

“I am a warrior committed to his career and to his fans, who have fought and earned every penny and every opportunity. Thank you all and I can't wait to announce what's next. I am grateful and very excited.”

Aniya pa, “Pacquiao took Thurman belt off. He had the opportunity of him. He was not going to give me the opportunity, nor did he want unification. It's the difference. My next fight I want unification. Looks like I'll have the fight that I've been chasing for years. Do not hate me. Congrats me.”

Dobleng pensiyon sa Senior Citizens, inihirit ni Sen. Pacquiao

Isinusulong ni Senator Manny Pacquiao na doblehin ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang monthly pension ng mga senior citizens.

Aniya, "Paano naman makaka-support ang P500 na pension nila sa mga needs nila? Ang gusto ko nga sana, minimum, at least P1,000 para sa senior citizen dahil kawawa sila, eh."

Sang-ayon naman si Senator Imee Marcos sa nais ni Sen. Pacquiao.

Aniya, "Totoo, sobrang baba kasi. Ano naman ang magagawa mo sa P500 a month? Tapos ibibigay kada tatlong buwan, P1,500 din lang. Napakakaunti po.”

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act (RA) 9994 o ang Expanded Senior Citizens Act of 2010, ang mga may sakit at disability na walang pension mula sa ibang ahensiya ng gobyerno at wala ring permanenteng pagkakakitaan o souce ng financial assistance ay kuwalipikado upang makatanggap ng social pension mula sa DSWD sa pamamgitan ng Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program.
