Japan at US, sanib-puwersa vs. sa mga problema sa China

Mas pinatatag pa ng Japan at US ang kanilang alyansa laban sa mga banta ng pananakop at upang masiguro ang seguridad at kaligtasan ng dalawang bansa.

Binisita ni Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga si US President Joe Biden noong Biyernes at kabilang sa kanilang mga napag-usapan ay ang laban kontra-COVID-19.

Nagkasundo rin ang dalawang bansa sa seguridad at pagkakaisa upang ayusin ang isyu sa East China Sea, South China Sea at ang nuclear program ng North Korea.

Pahayag pa ni Biden, "We're going to work together to prove that democracies can still compete and win in the 21st century.

"We committed to working together to take on the challenges from China and on issues like the East China Sea, the South China Sea as well as North Korea.”

Saad naman ni Suga, "We agreed to oppose any attempts to change the status quo by force or coercion in the East and South China seas and intimidation of others in the region.

"Freedom, democracy, human rights and the rule of law are the universal values that link our alliance.”

Olympic Games, tuloy sa Japan

Determinado ang Japan na ituloy ang Olympic Games ngayong taon sa kabila ng banta ng COVID-19 at sisiguraduhin din umano ng naturang bansa ang seguridad at kaligtasan ng mga manlalaro.

Pahayag ni Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, “Japan is listening to and learning from WHO (World Health Organization) and experts.”

Aniya pa, “They are doing everything possible to contain infection and to realize safe and secure games from scientific and objective perspectives.

“I expressed my determination to realize the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games as a symbol of global unity this summer, and US President (Joe) Biden once again expressed his support.”

Samantala, matapos ma-postpone noong nakaraang taon dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic, ngayong Hulyo nakatakdang ituloy ang Olympic Games sa Japan.

Japan, may “Minister of Loneliness” dahil sa dami ng nagsu-suicide

Itinalaga ni Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga bilang “Minister of Loneliness” si Tetsushi Sakamoto matapos lumobo ang kaso ng suicide sa Japan.

Si Sakamoto ay isa ring minister-in-charge sa mababang birthrate ng Japan.

Pahayag ni PM Suga kay Sakamoto, “Women are suffering from isolation more (than men are), and the number of suicides is on a rising trend.

“I hope you will identify problems and promote policy measures comprehensively.”

Naalarma ang pamahalaan dahil noong October, 2020, umabot sa 2,153 ang kaso ng suicide sa Japan habang 1,765 naman ang pumanaw dahil sa COVID-19, ayon sa Japanese National Police Agency.
