Aprub sa DOTr.. Provincial buses, lalarga na uli sa EDSA — MMDA

Magpapatupad ang Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ng isang 2-linggo dry run para sa pagbabalik ng mga provincial buses sa EDSA simula ngayong Huwebes ng gabi matapos na aprubahan ito ng Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Sa isang statement, sinabi ni MMDA chairperson Romando Artes na ang IATF Resolution No. 101 na tungkol sa uniform travel protocols, kung saan inisyu noong Pebrero 2021, ay mag-e-expire na ngayong Huwebes.

“The DOTr and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board [LTFRB] gave the green light to allow provincial buses to ply EDSA starting 10 p.m. tonight up to 5 a.m.,” sabi ni Artes.

Samantala, ang MMDA at mga representante mula sa multi-sectoral stakeholders ay nagpirmahan ng isang Pledge of Commitment para mapabuti ang mga pampubliko at pribadong transportasyon sa National Capital Region (NCR) sa ginanap na summit.

Ayon sa MMDA, kabilang sa mga iminungkahing traffic plans ay ang pagpapalawak ng number coding scheme at ang reimplementation ng truck ban policy, bilang paghahanda na rin ito sa “new normal”.

“We will conduct a series of consultations to further improve traffic management in Metro Manila. Rest assure that we will thoroughly study the proposed solutions and we will address the concerns of the commuters and transport sector,” saad ni Artes.

Ang mga participants sa naturang summit ay mga ahensiya ng gobyerno, private sector, transport groups, transport associations, at mga local traffic bureaus ng 17 local government units (LGUs) sa Metro Manila.

Libreng sakay sa MRT3 mula Marso 28 hanggang Abril 30 — P-Du30

Libre ang sakay sa Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) mula sa Marso 28 hanggang Abril 30, 2022, ayon kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ngayong Martes.

“I’d like to announce, (Department of Transportation) Secretary Art Tugade and I, we decided that the MRT-3 rides will be free from March 28 to April 30, 2022,” pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte sa ginanap na seremonya para sa completion ng MRT-3 Rehabilitation Project na pinondohan ng gobyerno ng Pilipinas at ng Japan International Cooperation Agency.

Magdiriwang naman si Pangulong Duterte ng kanyang kaarawan sa Marso 28. Ang MRT-3 ay tumatakbo mula North Avenue sa Quezon City hanggang Taft Avenue sa Pasay City.

“I am pleased to join you today for the timely rehabilitation completion ceremony of the MRT-3. It is proof that we are keeping our momentum in improving our national road system, which aims to deliver quality service to the Filipino people, and respond to the emergence of the new normal,” ani P-Duterte.

Pinasalamatan din ng Pangulo ang Japanese government sa kanilang ibinigay na assistance para sa proyekto. “Our train system would not have returned to its original high grade design condition without the technical competencies and professional aid of our service providers from Sumitomo Corp. and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries,” saad ng Punong Ehekutibo.

“With the joint efforts of these companies and the DOTr, we’ve increased our train speed from 25 km/ hour to 60[km]/hour, while the time interval between train arrivals has improved to 8 to 10 minutes,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Mula sa 12 hanggang 15 operating train units kada araw, ayon kay Pangulong Duterte mayroon nang 18 hanggang 22 train units na available sa ngayon. “This progress will decrease, if not altogether, stop the number of unloading incidents in our stations,” dagdag pa niya.

Kabilang din sa nakumpletong rehabilitation project ay ang upgraded signaling, communications at CCTV systems, repair ng lahat ng station escalators at elevators, at ang matagumpay na instalasyon ng air conditioning units sa loob ng mga tren.

LRT1, LRT2, MRT3, PNR, walang taas-pasahe — DOTr

Walang pagtataas ng pamasahe sa mga railway lines sa bansa gaya ng LRT1, LRT2, MRT3, PNR sa kabila ng patuloy na pagsirit sa presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo, ayon sa Department of Transportation (DOTr).

“Maigting na paalala, instruction ni [Transportation] Secretary [Arthur] Tugade na walang inaasahan at walang pinaplano na pagtaas-pasahe sa linya ng ating mga tren,” pahayag ni DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John Batan sa Laging Handa briefing ngayong Huwebes.

“Alam natin na may pagtaas ng presyo sa langis na maaaring makaapekto sa presyo ng ating mga ibang bilihin, kung kaya’t sinisiguro natin… na sa sektor ng riles walang kinokonsidera na taas pasahe,” giit ni Batan.

Sa ulat, ang presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo ay tumaas ng 11 magkakasunod na linggo simula pa lamang ng taon, kung saan umabot ang year-to-date adjustments para sa diesel sa net increase ng P30.65 kada litro, gasoline ng P20.35 kada litro, at kerosene ng P24.90 kada litro.

Gayunman, naglabas na ang gobyerno ng pondo para sa fuel subsidies sa parehong public transportation at agriculture sectors upang makaiwas sa anumang tinatawag na inflationary impact dahil sa pagtaas ng presyo ng langis.
