Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na hindi required ang Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Identification Number (PIN) para makapagpa-register para sa COVID-19 vaccination.

Naglabas ng pahayag ang DOH kaugnay ng social media post ng health insurer kung saan pinaalalahanan ang mga miyembro na nais magpabakuna na tandaan ang kanilang PIN para maka-avail ng PhilHealth benefits.

Pahayag ng DOH, “The Department of Health (DOH) clarifies that PIN is not a requirement to register for and receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and is only required when claiming PhilHealth benefits in cases of adverse events following immunization (AEFI).”

Saad pa ng DOH, “To ensure Philhealth coverage of Filipinos who are not yet registered to Philhealth in cases of AEFI that need hospitalization, the government will set up registration booths at official vaccination sites to facilitate onsite PhilHealth registration.”

Ayon din sa DOH, sa ilalim ng Universal Health Care (UHC) Law, ang lahat ng Pilipino, “whether direct or indirect contributors” pati ang mga dependents ng contributors, indigent members, senior citizens at persons with disabilities ay “automatic members of PhilHealth.”

9,296 bagong kaso ng COVID-19

Umabot na sa kabuuang 741,181 ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa matapos na makapagtala ngayong Martes ang Department of Health (DOH) ng 9,296 bagong kaso ng na-infect ng virus.

Ito na ang ikalimang sunod na araw na nakapagtala ng mahigit sa 9,000 bagong kaso ng coronavirus.

Ayon sa DOH, pumalo naman ang bilang ng active cases sa bansa ng 124,680, pinakamataas na nai-record ngayong taon.

Sa nasabing bilang, 96% dito ay nakararanas ng mild symptoms, 2.3% ay asymptomatic habang 0.7% ay severe at 0.6% ay nasa critical condition.

Pumalo naman ang kabuuang bilang ng mga nakarekober sa 603,310 matapos na 103 ang bagong gumaling mula sa virus.

Mayroon namang 5 bagong nasawi kaya umakyat na sa 13,191 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga namatay dahil sa COVID-19.

ECQ, i-extend pa ng 1 linggo — DOH

Inirekomenda ng Department of Health (DOH) na i-extend ng isa pang linggo ang enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) sa NCR Plus Bubble upang mapigilan ang paglobo ng COVID-19, ayon sa pahayag ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire ngayong umaga, Marso 30.

Aniya, "One week really is short. We have recommended an extension but of course we have to balance it off with the economy that's why we need enough basis for us to have this extension. As I've said, we won't even see any changes in our numbers.

We might see more numbers after this 1 week because what we're seeing right now are the numbers 2 weeks prior to this week. We are still going to see an accumulation to these numbers for the next 2 weeks."

Paliwanag pa niya, "Why so? It takes about 3 days for people to decide if they would want to seek consult for their symptoms. It takes another 2 days for them to get tested and the waiting for the results and then eventually being isolated. It takes 9 days in average. Thus 9 day causes a lot of transmission already."

Iginiit din niyang posibleng umabot sa 430,000 ang aktibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa pagtatapos ng Abril kung hindi inagapan ang pagpapatupad ng ECQ sa NCR Plus Bubble.

Nauna na ring idineklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na isasailalim sa modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) at general community quarantine (GCQ) ang iba pang lugar sa bansa dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID-19. Sa huling tala ng DOH, umabot na sa 10,016 ang nagpositibo sa virus at sa kabuuan ay pumalo na sa 731,894 ang naitalang kaso.
