Ubos na ang AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines sa bansa, ayon sa Department of Health (DOH) ngayong Lunes.

Kaugnay nito, ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, hinihintay na ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang mga karagdagang dokumento mula sa Sinovac Biotech upang masigurong ligtas gamitin ang kanilang bakuna sa mga nakatatanda.

Aniya, “We have coordinated [with Sinovac] already because we know na kailangan natin sa ating country because naubos na ang AstraZeneca doses natin.

“Gusto nating mabakunahan ang mga matatanda, ang ating mga senior citizens that’s why we are closely coordinating so we can get the evidence, so FDA can amend their EUA for senior citizens if ever the pieces of evidence will come in.”

Ayon sa AstraZeneca, 80% ang efficacy rate ng kanilang COVID-19 vaccine sa mga matatanda. Ang Sinovac naman ay inirerekomenda lamang ng FDA sa mga edad-18 hanggang 59.

Ngunit noong Pebrero, ayon sa opisyal ng Sinovac, maaari ring gamitin ang kanilang bakuna sa mga senior citizens.

Samantala, sa ngayon ay 2.5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses pa lamang ang natatanggap ng Pilipinas kung saan 525,000 lang ang mula sa AstraZeneca at ang iba ay Sinovac.

Sa 2.5 million doses, tinatayang aabot sa 1.5 million ang naipamahagi sa mga inoculation centers at 740,000 ang naiturok na.

Resulta ng antigen test, isasama na sa bilang ng COVID-19 cases

Isasama na rin ng Department of Health (DOH) sa official tally ng COVID-19 cases ang mga nagpositibo sa antigen test results.

Sa ngayon ay nakukuha ang official tally base sa resulta ng RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) tests at ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, inirekomenda ng World Health Organization (WHO) ang paggamit ng antigen test kits sa Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, at Laguna na isinailalim sa enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Pahayag ni Vergeire, “The rapid antigen test will be officially reported for this period that we have this increase in the number of cases… it’s going to be used as part of our outbreak response.

“In our guidelines and based on WHO recommendations, when there are areas with increased incidence or there are outbreaks like what we are having right now, you can use antigen test as confirmatory already so we do not need any RT-PCR.”

Una na ring sinabi ni Testing Czar Vince Dizon na plano ng pamahalaan na taasan ang COVID-19 tests araw-araw ng higit sa 90,000 sa pamamagitan ng antigen test kits.

Saad naman ni Vergeire, “But if you are going to use the rapid antigen in areas where there is low prevalence and you use them for asymptomatics or screening, you need the use of the RT-PCR for you to confirm that test.”

Samantala, nakapagtala ang bansa ng 9,296 karagdagang kaso ng COVID-19 ngayong araw at sa kabuuang bilang ay 124,680 na ang naitalang active cases.

PhilHealth ID number, 'di kailangan para mabakunahan — DOH

Nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) na hindi required ang Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) Identification Number (PIN) para makapagpa-register para sa COVID-19 vaccination.

Naglabas ng pahayag ang DOH kaugnay ng social media post ng health insurer kung saan pinaalalahanan ang mga miyembro na nais magpabakuna na tandaan ang kanilang PIN para maka-avail ng PhilHealth benefits.

Pahayag ng DOH, “The Department of Health (DOH) clarifies that PIN is not a requirement to register for and receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and is only required when claiming PhilHealth benefits in cases of adverse events following immunization (AEFI).”

Saad pa ng DOH, “To ensure Philhealth coverage of Filipinos who are not yet registered to Philhealth in cases of AEFI that need hospitalization, the government will set up registration booths at official vaccination sites to facilitate onsite PhilHealth registration.”

Ayon din sa DOH, sa ilalim ng Universal Health Care (UHC) Law, ang lahat ng Pilipino, “whether direct or indirect contributors” pati ang mga dependents ng contributors, indigent members, senior citizens at persons with disabilities ay “automatic members of PhilHealth.”
