3,000 OFWs, oks nang lumipad pa-Israel

Inalis na ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang suspension order sa deployment ng mga migrant workers sa Israel at inaasahang makabibiyahe na papunta sa nasabing bansa ang tinatayang nasa 3,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), ayon kay Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

Noong Mayo, maaalalang sinuspinde ng DOLE ang deployment sa mga migrant workers sa Israel dahil sa alitan sa pagitan ng mga Israeli at Palestinians sa Gaza.

Ayon kay Bello, inalis na ang naturang suspensiyon dahil maayos na ang sitwasyon sa nasabing bansa.

Ani Bello sa teleradyo interview, "'Yung assessment ng Labor attaché namin sa Israel na medyo tumahimik na ang sitwasyon doon at ligtas na ‘yung ating mga OFWs.

"That and an advisory from our Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) na OK na at lifted na ‘yung kanilang alert Level 3, so puwede nang magpadala. And therefore, on that basis, I issued a directive na i-allow na ang pagde-deploy ng ating mga kababayan sa Israel.

"Ang daming kailangan doon na caregivers, hotel workers at farm workers."

Saad pa ni Bello, “Siguro anytime now, mag-aalisan na ang mga… at the very least, mga 3,000. Nakatengga nga ‘yan dahil du’n sa temporary suspension. So anytime now, aalis na ‘yung ating mga kababayan na matagal nang naghihintay ng kanilang deployment.”

88 ang buntis... 325 OFWs mula UAE, pinauwi na sa ‘Pinas

Pinauwi na sa Pilipinas ang 325 overseas Filipinos workers (OFWs) mula sa UAE noong Huwebes na naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon sa Department of Foreign Affairs, kabilang sa mga na-repatriate ay 88 na “pregnant distressed overseas Filipinos.”

Saad pa ng ahensiya noong Huwebes, “A total of 325 distressed OFWs arrived this morning at the NAIA Terminal 1. This is the third flight from UAE this year especially chartered by the DFA through the Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (DFA-OUMWA) using the DFA’s Assistance to National Fund.”

Nilinaw naman ng DFA na sasailalim sa “stringent facility-based quarantine” ang mga napauwing OFWs bilang pagsunod sa health protocols ng Department of Health (DOH) - Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ).

Bukas pa rin umano ang DFA para sa mga Pilipinong nais umuwi sa bansa. Saad pa ni DFA Undersecretary for Migrant Workers' Affairs Sarah Lou Y. Arriola, "To our kababayan in distress, we hear you. We are here for you. “This recent arrival is a clear testament of our commitment to bring you home.”

OFWs at iba pang galing 'Pinas, banned sa Oman

Sinuspinde ng pamahalaan ang deployment ng overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa Oman sa gitna ng COVID-19 pandemic, ayon kay Department of Labor (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III.

“Yes, a POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration) Board Resolution was issued suspending deployment of our workers to Oman,” ani Bello sa isang phone interview ngayong Biyernes.

Ayon kay Bello, isinagawa ang hakbang base sa rekomendasyon ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) matapos ipagbawal ng Oman ang pagpasok sa kanila ng mga travelers mula sa Pilipinas.

“Last Monday, we received such referral from the DFA. They informed us that the Oman government came up with an order banning entry of Filipino travelers and even those travelers who passed through the Philippines,” sabi ni Bello.

“As such, the DFA recommended to us to suspend our deployment to Oman,” dagdag pa niya.
